Synopsis

Laura Diamond, a brilliant NYPD homicide detective balances her “Columbo” day job with a crazy family life that includes two unruly twin boys and a soon-to-be ex-husband — also a cop — who just can't seem to sign the divorce papers. Between cleaning up after her boys and cleaning up the streets, she’d be the first to admit she has her “hot mess” moments in this hilariously authentic look at what it really means to be a “working mom” today. Somehow, she makes it all work with the help of her sexy and understanding partner, and things becomes even more complicated when her husband, ironically, becomes her boss at the precinct. For Laura, every day is a high-wire balancing act.

Scanialara You won't be disappointed!
Evengyny Thanks for the memories!
Intcatinfo A Masterpiece!
Keeley Coleman The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;
Tweekums This entertaining cop show is set in New York and follows the eponymous Detective Laura Diamond as she and her colleagues solve a variety of murders. Things are slightly complicated by the fact that her captain, Jake, is also her ex-husband and back home she has a couple of rather wild twin boys to look after.In many ways this is a very traditional series; there is a different case in each episode and we just know that Laura will ultimately solve the case. Thankfully that doesn't make the series stale; it has plenty of funny moments without feeling too forced and the characters are a lot of fun. Away from the cases there is the constant will-they won't-they regarding the possibility of Laura and Jake getting back together. Debra Messing is great in the lead role and is able supported by Josh Lucas as Jake, Janina Gavankar and Laz Alonso as fellow detectives Meredith and Billy and Max Jenkins as office boy Max Carnegie. There is a good chemistry between the characters in what is for the most part a feel good series; there are moments of tragedy though. Overall I'd recommend this to anybody looking for a cop show that isn't part of a franchise like so many current series seem to be.
Felista Jager I've only known Debra Messing in will&grace so i had my concerns for this show. But, i love it. Yes, it has nothing to do with actual police work, but hey, its a show. And it entertains me. I record the show so that i, when my baby sleeps, i can enjoy a fun and easy going show. Its fun and Debra is great as an single mom. Although i can never get my hair like that in between throwing up and changing diapers. So no, it's not reality TV, but if you enjoy comedy and crime, and loved will & grace, this is your show. Okey, i need at least 10 lines to post... I have only seen season one, but i cannot wait till season 2. Have fun watching this fun show. Don't expect Oscar winning acting or amazing screenplay, it's just fun
rmichaels1 I cannot continue to watch a series that includes an unreasonable premise. I just watched the pilot of "The Mysteries of Laura" and although I liked it, I thought the ending--the promotion of her husband--was stupid and too ridiculous to believe. Here is a woman (Laura) who was clearly a valuable member of the precinct and separated from her husband. She is not even consulted with prior to his hiring. Never mind that he is hired minutes after the job opening happens.I watched the first couple of minutes of the second episode to see if Laura demanded that he not be hired or that she be transferred to another precinct. When that didn't happen, I quit watching this series. As far as I was concerned, they have already jumped the shark.
shalimarsubagja I love crime drama. And universe gives me more than I can watch. I'm grateful for that, but somehow... I'm getting bored. The genre is getting saturated with similar type of forensic process scene and less sleuthing.The Mysteries of Laura is like a fresh air for crime drama genre. Yes, Laura is wacky and her daily life with her kids mirrors Messing's role in The Women. But the plot using the classic style of sleuth story, with lots of red herrings and a plot twist that makes me say, 'ah!'The support characters are great too. I got my eyes on Detective Soto that have similar aura with Morgan of Criminal Minds. Rawr!I'm on its third episode and my expectations met. Looking forward for the red head craziness next week!
