Evengyny Thanks for the memories!
Contentar Best movie of this year hands down!
Zandra The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
Billy Ollie Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
Jackson Booth-Millard I heard only a little bit about this show before it started, I'm not sure if I saw a trailer, it was obvious it was going to be a small programme that may gain a little success, but after the first episode I was willing to stick with it because of the genius of its simplicity. Basically Martin Hurdle (Very Important People's Terry Mynott) is an ordinary guy working a terrible job as a cleaner, but he has a rather extraordinary hidden talent, he has the ability to mimic various male celebrities, in old and recent culture, and in his spare time he cannot help himself but to do these impression in his daily life at almost any time. Besides doing the job that he obviously hates he spends most of his time with his tenant and friend Jean (This Is England's Jo Hartley) who owns the flat he rents out, his friend Neil (Neil Maskell) who owns the local shop and enjoys his impressions, his recently united son who hopes to help him make something of his talent and friend Helen Smith (Ami Metcalf), but they all know he has a talent he is holding back. Amongst the voices Martin is fantastic at doing he can perfectly mimic Sir Ian McKellen, Morgan Freeman, James Earl Jones, Al Pacino, Sir Alec Guinness, Sir David Attenborough, Alan Carr, Peter O'Toole, Alan Rickman, Sir Terry Wogan, Ronnie Corbett and Christopher Walken, but of course you are always surprised by the many others he can do. Also starring EastEders' Sharon Duncan-Brewster as Dionne, Dan Tetsell as Chris Stubbs and Peter Ferdinando as Jesse. Mynott is a brilliant impressionist, his character is likable, if a little unusual, talking to himself and so on, but you empathise with him as well, the supporting cast and characters are alright as well, it is as I said a very simple idea and maybe not the kind of show that would be a big highlight, but it is a little funny gem, a likable comedy. Very good!
Reesfamily2004 I loved it, great heartwarming comedy, very watchable with likable characters and subtle observational humour. Similar vibe to The office, Derek and Gavin and Stacey, in that there is depth, drama and pathos; as well as laugh out loud. Must get a second series as has so much potential ...Loved Neil the paranoid newsagent and thought Martin and Jeans relationship was lovely and intriguing. I have found it very British in that it is so wonderfully understated. Some great laugh out loud comedy moments, like the school kids in plain clothes, dolmio family gag, the choc lab, and lots of subtle funny observations. It really builds from each episode. I thought the last one was the best and really left it open for a second series...Please....
