mitch_h-0001 ***This review is Rate PG-13 (or R (IDK)) for drug reference***First off, I'm going to rate this a 10/10 for 3 reasons. 1. Thats thehighest it will let me rate. 2. I, LOVE, this show. It's original, funny, and it's one of the better shows on cartoon network, which hasreally started to go downhill with a lot of the newer shows like the 3scooby doo remakes that they have now, and the absolutely HORRIBLEanime/cartoon mutant hybrid shows such as Ben 10 and Generator Rex which are enough to make me smash my TV its self. And then there's Johnny test but, i wont get into that because its the wrong page, but "The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack" is a quality, good, clean show, unlike every Total Drama show that they have now which have some very unchild friendly themes and content.Granted, there are some rather dark and disturbing things in this show, but its made up by the funny dialog, uplifting colors and characters so that when those parts roll around they just make you giggle. Which is probably the way the show was meant to be.and finally #3. I just don't see how anybody could not like this show. It's adorable at bear minimum.Flapjack is like a little American tofu ball u just want to roll up and eat because he probably tastes like rainbows and unicorns and gumdrops.Cap'n K'nuckles is a crude, hardened "adventurer" who may start most of their problems by either lying, stealing, cheating, or some other conman/pirate hobby, but despite his crack-like candy addiction and alcoholic-maple syrup-drinking problem he always find a touching and heart-warming moral which flapjack and most kids grow from. Because its a kid show. Not a show for people over 13. Unless you're like me and my friends and you enjoy children's cartoons well into your teens. But this show wasn't meant to be like Rugrats, Johnny Bravo, Angry Monsters or Hey Arnold!, which were all really great shows that I miss. And if it was meant to be like that then they greatly missed the mark and spawned a funny show itself.Oh, and if it was like older cartoons then i would read mostly negative reviews calling it a "ripoff" of the older shows.
GhostofaSiren This is an excellent show! My husband and I (we are in our twenties) crack up so bad ever time we watch this show. Yes, even the reruns (which CN hardly shows). I love the wacky humor, and the style it is drawn in. The voice acting is perfect for each character. The voice of Flapjack is absolutely perfect (way better than who they were going to pick); it cracks me up. And the actor who talks for K'nuckles is like my favorite voice actor now, because of this. :) It's hilarious that they sing in strange moments, and the fact that everyone is addicted to candy is original and funny. K'nuckles is more of a kid than flapjack. :D I hope this show goes on for years, because it is the only reason I watch CN at all! Chowder is okay (it's their second best), but this is by far their best show airing to date. I would hate for it to get canceled and replaced by a total drama island wannabe. If they showed this show half as much as total drama island and 6teen they would see what a great show they have! This could be cartoon network's spongebob squarepants. Honestly, I think it's funnier.
iamoscaraguilar Cartoon network has been putting out a lot of stupid stuff lately. this has been going on since 2005 when they were came out with Ben 10, my gym parter's a monkey, and camp Lazlo, which are average at best. But what really scrapes the bottom of that poop barrel are these 2 cartoons: The marvelous misadventures of flapjack and chowder. The animation for both are just atrocious to look at, the voice acting is annoying, and are just full of stupid corny jokes nobody laughs at. I hate this show. Cartoon Network stinks now. And that's why I don't watch it anymore. Nickelodeon is going through the same thing, and the only thing worth watching is boomerang.
Jared Mason (beaner293) "The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack" are just that. Marvelous. This is probably the last great cartoon show on Cartoon Network outside of Chowder. For a man that has grown up watching cartoons, I have to say that the shows on Cartoon Network, and Nickelodeon for that matter, have been falling off in quality lately. Flapjack excluded. With the mixed media, the use of watercolor, the writing, the quirky stories, all of it is spectacular. It's like we say in improvisation, you have to find the love. This show really does a good job at showing the love between mother and baby, mentor and protégé, and between friends.Sure, Captain K'nuckles is a crass bad influence, he lies, he cheats, he steals, he's greedy, gluttonous, and whiney, but the lessons taught and learned are great.Flapjack is such a sweet, kind, energetic kid, it's hard not to fall in love with this nautical-nonsense cartoon.
