LouHomey From my favorite movies..
DipitySkillful an ambitious but ultimately ineffective debut endeavor.
Scotty Burke It is interesting even when nothing much happens, which is for most of its 3-hour running time. Read full review
Walter Sloane Mostly, the movie is committed to the value of a good time.
bgsmall I had caught the odd episode on C4 when this was first run during the mid-noughties, but have resorted to a box set binge on Netflix to obtain a full appreciationThe script and characterisation is spot on in respect of reflecting the topics of discussion (i.e. girls, booze, cars, etc) and illogical reasoning of teenage boys. I think the writers skewed the presentation in favour of the 40-something audience (i.e. The Cure's - in between days is part of the soundtrack), but maybe I'm imagining that and it's likely just as relevant to older and younger audiences alike. Anyway, redolent (at least in certain respects) of my own (and my friends) youthful mis-demeanours. Enjoyably raucous!
Anoushka Rampeearee These 4 are really the best! A very funny show. Love the chemistry between the actors. I wish we got to see them grow into adulthood together. Maybe have a show when they are uni or something. It' s a really crazy show. I love how when you watch TV it's to forget about everything else. This show does that to you. You sit and have a good laugh and you know you can never be disappointed!! Great job guys! We need shows like this today. I believe if the show came out in 2016 instead of 2008 more people would have watched it and commented on it! shame it ended in 2012.I haven't seen the movies yet. Will def watch them tonight. Thank you NEtflix for this!
darth_timon When you're 16, you no longer feel like you're a kid. You feel you're worthy of greater respect, that you are in fact, an adult. Legally though, you are NOT an adult. You are beyond certain rules but still trapped by others - you're 'inbetween' childhood and adulthood, so the show's title is certainly accurate. So to is the awkwardness you feel at that age. The desire to fit in yet also somehow be distinctive enough to get noticed by the opposite sex. You end up running a huge gauntlet of emotions every day, and this show captures this experience beautifully.I couldn't help but empathise with the characters, even as I laughed out loud at their stupidity and antics. In almost every scene I could see myself at that age, and snort with laughter as they missed the obvious right under their noses. It's a great show, both very funny, and also remarkably accurate about that time of our lives when we are not kids anymore, but not quite adults.
Jackson Booth-Millard I heard about this programme during the time it was being broadcast, and then I heard about the numerous repeated episodes afterwards, I was getting very annoyed that so many other people had seen it and liked it and I hadn't, so when I finally got started on it I was very satisfied. Basically this British sitcom series revolves around the lives of four suburban teenagers who attend Rudge Park Comprehensive, with situations involving attempts at sexual intercourse and relationships, broken family life, indifferent school students and staff, school bullying, school education, and much more, many ending up in humiliating and embarrassing moments and conclusions. These four friends are nerd-like, polite and sensible Will McKenzie (BAFTA and twice British Comedy Award winning Simon Bird, also the narrator throughout), foul-mouthed, often vulgar and boastfully exaggerating Jay Cartwright (BAFTA and British Comedy Award nominated James Buckley), slow-witted, enthusiastic and gullible Neil Sutherland (Blake Harrison) and insecure, simple and willing Simon Cooper (Joe Thomas). They are socially awkward and only occasionally spoken to by female students, but they are marginally above what are known as "the freaks", and they will do almost whatever it takes to get where they want to be and what they want to do, including attending and visiting parties, discos, school trips, nightclubs, theme parks, camping trips and many other places. Also starring Greg Davies as Mr. Gilbert, Emily Head as Carli D'Amato, Lenny Henry in Pieces' Martin Trenaman as Alan Cooper, Belinda Stewart-Wilson as Polly McKenzie, Robin Weaver as Pamela Cooper, Henry Lloyd-Hughes as Mark Donovan, John Seaward as John, Dominic Applewhite as Andrew Cooper, Emily Attack as Charlotte Hinchcliffe, David Schaal as Terry Cartwright, Alex Macqueen as Kevin Sutherland, Lily Lovett as Rachel, Victoria Willing as Mrs. Cartwright, Hannah Tointon as Tara and Britain's Got Talent's Charlie Wernham as Danny Moore. The lead characters are all fantastic, each with their own individual and infectious personality, and some of the supporting characters are great too, and many of the best laughs created in the series are from the adolescent material, relying on frequent expletives, derogatory terms of sexual nature, sarcasm, gross-out moments and much more besides, everything combined creates a fantastically funny situational comedy show. It won the BAFTA for the Audience Award, and it was nominated the BAFTA for Best Situation Comedy (twice) and Best Writer, it won the British Comedy Awards for the Outstanding Achievement Award, Best TV Sitcom and Best New British Television Comedy (Scripted), and it won the National Television Award for Digital Choice, and it was nominated for Most Popular Comedy Programme. It was number 5 on Channel 4's Greatest Comedy Shows. Very good!
