Smartorhypo Highly Overrated But Still Good
Fairaher The film makes a home in your brain and the only cure is to see it again.
Tayloriona Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
Geraldine The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
Dr. Michael Hollywood This was one of the best shows on television. Mark Dacascos is a young and refreshing actor that proves he is not just an action star who survives by starring in no story action films. Dacascos branches outside of what he is used to in order to play a reincarnated soul of dead man brought back by a crow in order to set things right after his girlfriend is killed. The ongoing battle of good vs. evil continues as Eric Draven is brought back to life to set things right. Mark Dacascos is great in the television version of the film that would turn out to be Brandon Lee's last.I can't wait to see the next episode because it is a unique series in that the writers come up with new stuff to write about. I enjoy how the series goes back and forth between the world as it currently is and the way it was when Eric Draven and his girlfriend Shelly lived in happier times. Everything about this show from, story lines, music, and setting is outstanding!!!!! From its star Mark Dacascos to the supporting cast which includes the police detective whom he helps out by catching criminals; this series deserves to be seen during the week when everyone has the chance to see how great it is.
Kurasu This series was pathetic. It had bad acting, overworked special effects and wimpy bad guys. As a fan of the original film, I found the series as a boring watered down version of an excellent story. In the film, not only did Brandon Lee kill people, he looked as if he could, whereas this wannabe Mark Dacascus looks as if he couldn't punch his way out of a paper bag.Anyway, if you want action go and see the Brandon lee version, as Stairway to Heaven is more of a soap opera. As I said, the series is simply watered down, and it just contains scenes from the original movie, but has cut out some of the interesting characters and the more energetic fights and trash talking. but if you'd rather not think too much then hey, why not watch Stairway to Heaven. Really though, its just too soppy for me. In the Crow, both movie and comic, Eric Draven was a tortured, vicious individual who wanted to tear apart the people who had ruined his life/death. But Mark Dacascus' character is content to simply scare them into being better people. That really doesn't cut it for me. If someone had brutally murdered you and your fiancé, wouldn't you be walking around in the red haze? I think you would, and I know I would too. I think that maybe this series was targeted at a younger audience which would warrant the toned down violence, less objectionable drugs and less gruesome weaponry. But really they were the things that made the movies as dark and confronting as they were. Oh well. I suppose you can't win 'em all.
optims129 I agree...mark dacascos is AWESOME with a capital A... i think if brandon was still alive and wanted out of the(crow)series i think he would have chosen mark to be his successor.....you look at the 2 guys and you could almost swear the 2 guys are clones...and both are total bad asses..... i watched the series from pilot to finish i love the series and i love how they used the original plot but extended it to include the hunt and the capture and killing of each individual who did eric and shelly wrong....James O'barr created an awesome character in eric draven and becouse of eric i learned of the various other crow incarnations i cant wait till the crow lazerus comes out and the crow about the farmers wife.....those 2 stories were another good story lines in the series
Owain Ddantgwyyn I think the series would have been better, if they made it in an "Outer Limits" style. I mean that every episode should have told the story of another Crow. Three movies , three different Crows. I always thought that a Crow has to leave, when their mission of taking revenge is completed. But in that series Eric Draven seems to be paid by the Police. And, why does he change into the Crow? Eric Draven made his Make-Up on his own, the guy in the second film got his one from Sarah and in the third film it burned itself into his face, while he was sitting on Old Sparky. The series is also too sunny, don´t you think? Thank god this show was cancelled, but if they ever want to make another series, I hope they do it the "Limits"-way.
