A brilliant film that helped define a genre

This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

This is a dark and sometimes deeply uncomfortable drama

I was surprised to see the show allow the "Pro" football players to continue to hit the Joe contestant after the man was down. I watched the "Pros" Bill Goldberg and Kevin Greene continue to hit the contestant after he was down, and rough him up. This continued, over several downs, without a referee, until a contestant was injured, and limped off the field. The show's Director should have stopped the show the moment "Pro", Bill Goldberg, threatened to knock out the teeth of the contestants. Bill Goldberg should have been thrown off the show, and the audience told that the show does not condone "Pros" intentionally injuring Joes. You cannot sign away negligence & malice.

This is the show where loud mouth wannabe athletes get schooled by the pros that they so unjustly scorn. I can't stop watching this. John Rocker can kick a mean soccer ball, even though it isn't his first sport. Jose Cansaco can still hit the homers. Claude Lemieux is an old, dirty, male, illegitimate, child. How about the joes? Boy, can they...talk. That is my only problem with this show. Isn't there anyone out there who has respect for the athletes and can play? It seems like they pick the most annoying people to make complete fools of themselves. I suppose they call that great TV. Watch this to see that just because a pro doesn't play their sport professionally anymore, doesn't mean that they can't play anymore.

MAY HAVE SPOILERS This was excellent!!! I found it more funny than anything. Especially since the pros watch the audition tapes. The colors i liked most were purple, green, yellow and blue. The tasks weren't a walk in the park and you see pros do work hard. To tell the truth one of the most funniest ones are when the Joes imitate Brandi Chastaine's pose at the World Cup i think. the time when she pulled off her jersey.I also liked the finale and i am looking forward to season 2. I get to stay up late to see season 2 premiere and hopefully they will put season 1 on DVD so i can buy it.

This is a great series for all sports fans! Get to finally see what it would be like if a normal guy played against a legend of the game. Although it is biased towards American sports, I still thoroughly enjoyed it. Watching Jerry Rice, Dennis Rodman, Bo Jackson and the rest against average Joe's was truly entertaining. It works by having the Joe's compete in events against the Pro's, in the Pro's own game! Each week a set of different pro's are chosen to take on the Joe's ! Sometimes, it doesn't matter if you aren't even into the sport like Decathalon or Women's Softball, it's just plain funny to see the Joe's being embarrassed or embarrassing the Pro's.
