VeteranLight I don't have all the words right now but this film is a work of art.
Arianna Moses Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.
jjnas It's to bad when a show like this comes along that has both great writing and a fantastic cast, but simply does not get the respect it deserves. This both happened at the time of it's airing and the lack of reruns you see of the show.In the almost 2 decade's since it's release I have only seen a rerun of the series once, and it was only for a few shows not the whole series. If you get the chance to watch the series I think you will be very impressed by the depth of characters and story lines that never failed to bring you back. The only possible reason I could have seen for the lack of support was the way the show made you take look deeply into a dark side of your being.Give it a chance you won't be disappointed ...
XweAponX I Enjoyed all the perturbations of this show, which had the mark of Creator Chris Carter and Producers Jim Wong and Glen Morgan. But what began with a lot of promise soon fell prey to Musical Producers.Wong and Morgan had a lot of influence in the first season and a half of this show, but later, I believe network influence changed the quality and eventually caused this show to end prematurely. One of my favorite Character Actors, "Bishop" from Aliens and Alien cubed Lance Henrickson is Frank Black - Former FBI Agent with a gift for seeing deep into the heart of darkness of everyman. This was not called "Psychic" and the character himself refused to accept that explanation of what he did - But what he was able to do was above your usual Fox Mulder type of Profiler - Whereas Mulder really could walk in those darknesses, Frank Black excelled at walking through those same areas and not be affected by them. But Black has retired, and moved to Seattle with his young wife and very young daughter. So he lends his gift to "The MillenniuM Group" which hires itself out to local law enforcement to assist with some of the worst serial crimes. This show starts with The Black Family moving to this new place with the promise of getting away from the pitch-black - But soon enough, Black is sucked back into that pit he escaped from in Washington DC. This show follows Black as he helps The MillenniuM Group and also tries to keep his own Family safe from what The Group ultimately represents.Because The MillenniuM Group itself is caught up in this same darkness, and Black finds this out, too late- After giving over a year of his life to the group. This does not become apparent until the last few episodes of Season Two.This show was shown pre-millennium, from 1996 to 1999 and was unceremoniously cut off before the actual Millennium occurred. The show was of course, finished within an episode of "The X Files" - Aptly called "MillenniuM" and the fate of Frank Black and his former Group is given a first class send off by Fox Mulder himself along with Dana Scully. This was the first time a Carter series was finished within the bounds of The X Files, the second time was for "The Lone Gunmen." This show was simply too dark for the Fox network at that time, and as I never missed an Episode, I did notice Network Tampering for the 3rd Season. Wong and Morgan left both this show and The X Files for their show "Space: Above and Beyond" which was treated poorly by Fox, preempted half the time, shown out of order, just like Firefly later. The loss of Morgan/Wong was noticed in both this show and The X Files.Im glad that the series was "finished" within the confines of one episode of The X Files, but I have heard talk of a MillenniuM Feature - That is what both The X Files and This show needs- X files needs a 3rd Feature that is not just an Elongated MOTW, and this show needs a proper send off. Because, it would seem, the MillenniuM came and went, but the effects of it are still with us today: 8 years of a bad government administration, which began at the time this show "Prophesied" the end would come.
EricBosarge This was by far one of my favorite shows in the late nineties. From the pilot which is one of he best ever made, as shows struggle to get their feet under them, this one came out blasting. I bought the disc last week and even thirteen years later, this show is still rocking. The story lines, the people, the themes, etc. were and still awesome. It went up against Profiler which was awesome in its own right. Chris Carter really put an awesome show together and even though it fizzled and ended after three years, it was still awesome. I wish Fox had put as much effort in this show as The X-files, it would have lasted longer. Lance Henrickson was great as Frank Black. Some of the shows were very thought provoking, one of my favorites is the "Judge". Also, the one dealing with the Zodiac killer is a classic and should go down in the books as "Rocking". If you have not given this show a shot, DO!!!1
PeterWorthers Few shows make me feel deep emotion (Final episode of Quantum Leap-Anger. Final Star Trek:TNG- Sad.) The pilot episode of Millennium made me feel something else, scared crap-less. The image of a living body, with eyes and mouth sewn up buried alive in a shallow grave gave me nightmares for weeks, but also started the making of one hell of a TV series. The 'sister' series of the X Files, Millennium was the scariest TV show to date and ever. With Frank Black (Lance Henriksen/Bishop from Ailens) as the man who could "See what the killer sees." I know, not a completely original idea, but the story lines were top notch and the disturbing images made you come back for more. It revolved around the millennium group and the year 2000, which was good for 1996, but once it got closer the threat got bigger. It kept the fans till the last season where (sadly) it became a lot like the x files and became painful to watch. But still all and all a good little series. DON'T WATCH IT ALONE IN THE DARK! SO invite a friend over, turn on all the lights and curl up with a good scare.
