Synopsis

Mike and Angelo is a British sci-fi TV sitcom series, that ran on CITV between 16 March 1989 and 7 March 2000. It centres on Angelo, an alien who came from another world during the first series; the portal from his world being that of a wardrobe in one of the bedrooms. He lives with Mike King, and Mike's mother Rita. Later series had Mike and Rita move away, with Rita's nephew Mike Mason staying on in the house with housekeeper Katy. Together, Mike and Angelo get up to all kinds of crazy adventures - all within the vicinity of the house that they live in. Angelo is always inventing something crazy, or walking on the ceiling, or summoning up historical figures from the past. They always wreak havoc together, much to Katy's annoyance, crying "ANGELO!!" in her Scottish accent constantly or Rita in her Canadian accent before her. Their neighbours are the posh Fawkes-Bentleys, in whose house some of the show's scenes are occasionally based. The 1999 series began with Angelo and Katy reading a postcard explaining that Mike was having a good time in America. In his place, Daphne Fawkes-Bentley's niece Michaela became Angelo's sidekick. For the final series, Katy's nephew, also called Mike, joined. The final series was shown in 2000.

ThiefHott Too much of everything
Adeel Hail Unshakable, witty and deeply felt, the film will be paying emotional dividends for a long, long time.
Calum Hutton It's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...
Isbel A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
Jackson Booth-Millard Whenever I had CITV on, I always hoped that this programme would be shown, because when I was younger, alongside Fun House and one or two other programmes, this was one of my most favourites. It should be mentioned that the cast were originally different, the first one or two series saw the main character regenerate, like Doctor Who, and of course I watched the show with the replacement actor. So Angelo (Tim Whitnall) is the alien from outer space who came to Earth in a wardrobe like spaceship, he can walk on ceilings, and he is a bonkers inventor always creating havoc in the house. His partner and best friend throughout the show was young Mike Mason (Michael Benz), who helped in any way he could to keep Angelo out of trouble and with his ridiculous plans. Also in the show, constantly getting irritated and shouting her iconic "Angelo!" line with her Scottish accent was housekeeper Katy Andrews (Katy Murphy), who occasionally joined in their adventures as well. The show was alway inside the household, you never saw them leave and do anything outside, but it didn't matter, everything cooky and enjoyable didn't need to go anywhere else. The last two or three series saw original Mike replaced by Aunt Daphne's niece Michaela 'Mickey' Fawkes-Bentley (Gemma Gregory), and then after her there came Katy's nephew, "coincidently" named Mike (Steven Geller), but for me the way it was worked better, I only kept watching until the end because of Angelo. I may not remember many of the episodes well, but Angelo was one of my favourite hilariously mad characters on TV, I really liked the character of Katy when she got cross, I just always looked forward to what chaos would happen next, a great fun show at the time. Very good!
miss gee This show was amazing, i remember it being one of the best children's shows around, and it ran for ages. mike and angelo, where he use to climb the walls, and land himself into trouble without meaning too! i ask my friends about this program and not all of them remember it, which is weird, but it would be amazing if they brought it back!!! the show, is one of my favourite old time children's shows! I really wish they would bring it back!! I remember angelo was the alien and he kept inventing things. i think mike was American, and he had really white hair, and they had the mother who was Scottish, i think her name was rita and they would have to cover up the trouble angelo got into! please bring this show back!
vdragan I am watching this nice series as rerun. Even i am to old for this in the moments of rest i enjoy watching it. The most important thing is that the series is intelligent and does not offer negative example to children. In the same time is amusing, that amusing, that adults enjoy. My favorite episode is when Katy has problem with loan, and begins to work for car seller. Parody of wild west is very funny. In the same time episode is showing kids how careful one should be when comes to money and loans. Excellent combination of fun and amusement. Costumes are interesting to.My review from 1 to 10 is 10+. Very nice and amusing:))) Dragan
Howlin Wolf I feel duty bound to write a comment for this, if only because, up until this point, nobody else has. I remember it being one of my favourite shows as a kid, with the dynamic between the two male actors being surprisingly engaging; a sort of Pre-Teen "Two Ronnies", if you will. I couldn't bear the thought that such a neat little show might otherwise pass unrecognised. Plenty of extraordinary things happen, since the 'Angelo' of the title is an alien, and there was some great slapstick! It's a shame that nobody else seems to remember this quite as fondly as I do (at least fondly enough to deem it worthy of a few words!) Remember this: Classic T.V never dies!Oooh, I'm off on a nostalgia 'kick' now, it's maybe time to resurrect some other underappreciated favourities of mine, like the pioneering virtual reality gameshow classic: "Knightmare"...
