Steineded How sad is this?
Intcatinfo A Masterpiece!
Fleur Actress is magnificent and exudes a hypnotic screen presence in this affecting drama.
Scarlet The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
shu-fen I don't remember when I happened to start watching this. The first time I watched it online, my eyes were caught by the green, green countryside, very tempting and pleasing.Yesterday evening, I just clicked into a certain episode uploaded on youtube, and found that this year it is carrying its 20th season. Amazing! And so, the countryside townsfolks continue to kill and people continue to die... And so...And so, "Midsomer Murders" is truly a very good way to show the world the luxuriant green countryside of the UK. Yet, in the past 19+ seasons, in total, I mean the grand total, how many got killed? There are always multiple deaths in one episode. Huh, 2000? If yes, wow, 100 for a season. That's why the detectives are so busy.
prodsol We have been watching Midsomer Murders for about 1 year. We use our Amazon Fire Stick and subscribe to Acorn TV. Now, we binge watch! Totally, free Saturday nights and Midsomer Murders. This is thinking it out and discovering "who did it" before DCI Barnaby! He is one dedicated Detective. He loves Joyce and Cully; however, quite funny when he arrives at a restaurant, only to turn around, because with that twinkle in his eye, he figured out who the perp is. We appreciate these actors, although we are painfully aware there will be a change in cast. We are watching Season 9 and as previous reviewers have said this is a solid detective show. We say we need to visit the area where the program is filmed; however, we are not sure if we should move there? (HA HA) We have visited London twice and have spent time in North Yorkshire. We consider ourselves anglophiles when repeat very British words. Loving our nights with Midsomer Murders!
dchambers-73709 The acting is superb and the writing was witty. Just found this a few weeks ago and have now watched all the episodes I can. I love the characters and the way they interact with each other and the landscape. Speaking of landscape, the areas where this is filmed are simply stunning. I love crime shows and this ranks up there with some of the very best. The crimes are brilliantly played out and seem like they are plausible. It is nice to watch a crime show that doesn't rely on flashy gun work or car chases. You have to pay attention and think it out. So happy I stumbled on it.
Data Doctor Boy, do I miss John Nettles. He managed to keep the show fresh for so many seasons with his interpretation of the Tom Barnaby character. Exit Nettles and enter Neil Dudgeon. Dudgeon's range of emotion extends to his ability to open his eyes wide or close them to narrow slits. The "eye actor" is as flat as they come. Compounding his lack of skills are ridiculously bad writing and directing. I feel sorry for Gwilym Lee. He's the only human actor (ah, good old Sykesy) worth watching in this now craptacular series. His cross to bear is the writing that treats him worse than Sykes. Dudgeon barks out commands to Nelson that are worse than those delivered to Sykes. "Nelson, do this. Nelson, go here". Yada, yada. Wow, nice writing. Gwilym, leave while your acting standing is still intact.
