nickgabis Richard Dean Anderson is a horrible actor he is not as good as Lucas Till the new Macgyver! Anderson never acts as well as he should he always has the same face and only 1 or 2 good clips per season.Lucas Till and the new actors are so much better and Andeson's acting is horrible it is so bad I can't believe this show has a 7.7!

williamwbritt I might get flack from this statement but I believe Macgyver is the American Doctor Who. Think about it. Both hate the use of guns. Uses their smarts and wits to get out of bad situations. Love both shows and a fan of both. I heard there is going to be a reboot and have seen the trailer. Just hope it has the same heart as the original series and doesn't become another shoot it up remake. On YouTube saw the pilot for Young Macgyver with one of the stars from Supernatural. The pilot kept it true to the original. It had heart and the hero used his head to get out of tight spots. Hope this new remake does the same.Actually started to binge watch Macgyver on my Amazon Account. Brings back fond memories. Like me climbing the roof to turn the TV antenna to take the snow out of the screen and yelling to my brother a little to the left or to the right? Kids now a days don't know what we had to go through to get a simple TV station to come in. Those were the days.

syleiling I was in grade school when I first saw the series. My whole family loved watching the show. Just like what others have said. The attraction is Macgyver's resourcefulness and intelligence. He is not violent but quite brave, cool and laid back. We especially love the scenes when he is jury-rigging something out of whatever he has. Some may not like the voice-overs, but I like them since I want to understand what he's doing. I like to know what's going on his mind.These kinds of TV shows are very rare. A show that features a role model that does not advocate violence but inspires you to use your brain.I hope TV shows of today are like this.

ultimatebabe1980 Every Tuesday my family would gather around the much-loved soapbox to watch attentively what MacGyver was up to that week. It was so much a part of our lives that people back home had MacGyver haircuts and once my little brother who was just four was so afraid of an episode that my dad had to explain that it was just a TV show but my brother was not convinced so my dad lied that he had even taken part in the show and that outside of it he was our real dad. Almost twenty years later, it is still a family joke. Nevertheless i think that in South Africa, in a time when we were experiencing harsh racism my family was able to enjoy few things and one of them was MacGyver. Moreover today as a journalist who faces crime reports ever so often, i find that message of anti-firearms in the series would be beneficial to today's society that is plagued by gun violence. I would love to see another episode of MacGyver and hopefully someday there would be a reunion. After the series was taken of the air, being a creative thinker i used to often come up with lots of endings but these days all i can remember is Richard Dean Andersons hopeful smile and truly the series made me believe that the ultimate weapon is one's mind.
