The film makes a home in your brain and the only cure is to see it again.

This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

Reading the other reviews I wanted to check this out. Unfortunately, the constant grimacing of the lead character was a big deterrent; it was neither believable, nor very realistic - just bad acting, in my opinion. Unless the whole thing is meant to be a parody. Even so, it just did not work for me. Sorry.

I don't find calling someone a "towelhead" or forcing them to shake a woman's hand when it's against their beliefs to be funny. I don't find solving problems with guns and violence to be funny. There is nothing remotely redeeming about the main character (who is as hypocritical as he is bigoted). I'm shocked to see all these glowing reviews...but I guess there is no accounting for taste.

An absolutely delightful show. I am convinced that Frank's adventures in Lillehammer are nothing more than the internal workings of Silvio Dante's mind as he lay in a coma in his hospital bed. From "whaddaya here, whaddaya say" to Pauline Walnuts and Jimmy April showing up, not to mention Gabriella Dante, this has to be the explanation. There is also the use of the Sopranos theme song.Whatever!
This is such a great show -it's a Norwegian show, not an American one but it is full of wit and style. Enjoy.

I've never seen "The Sopranos" so I don't have anything to compare the performance of Steven van Zandt, except as a musician. Thus, when I saw the name i the writing and producing credits I did not make the association. On the one hand, with all my Norwegian friends, I am appalled at the corruption, but on the other hand, it is intriguing as to how the blackmailing process is executed. We also like it that the Norwegian characters answer in their native language and that everyone is so polylingual. This is a great series that American audiences could use as an intro to European sociology. The scenery of Norway should also be included in the credits, as it is beautiful. If Trond (Torgeir) is excluded from subsequent episodes, I will be severely disappointed.
