BootDigest Such a frustrating disappointment
VeteranLight I don't have all the words right now but this film is a work of art.
GazerRise Fantastic!
Hayden Kane There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
hbkr22 I started watching Fastlane this summer (almost 10 years after it was on air), when I found it on Netflix. I watched the entire series and fell in love with it - granted, one or two episodes don't tickle my fancy, but considering there's only one season, it's not like I wasn't expecting it.There are only a few downsides to the show - the cliffhanger it ends on, the DVD has crappy music (the aired versions are much better, I watched a couple), the criminals are almost always druglords or gangsters, but that's all I can think of off the top of my head. The upsides - the guest stars and cameos are great 99% of the time, the cars/bikes in the Candy Store are nice (not to mention expensive, like Ferraris and Ducatis), the action is nice for a TV show, etc., etc. the list goes on.Personally, I think Fastlane is one of the best TV shows on the planet - more specifically, one of the best cop shows.I highly recommend it for anyone who loves cars, cop shows, the Fast and Furious films, Miami Vice or just someone looking to kill an hour.
heybuddy This show could have been to the 00's what Miami Vice was to the 80's. A hip, highly stylized, well-written, action-packed police drama with characters that you actually care about, and enough pop culture references to be timely. The show centers around a couple of deep-cover detectives from opposite coasts who work for a vixen police lieutenant who arms her UC's with flashy cars, tons of cash, and seized contraband in order to entice LA's highest rolling criminals into stings operations. Complications and emotional conflicts inevitably occur on their assignments together, along with car chases, gunfights, and a little romance. The plots were usually pretty lightweight but emotionally engaging, and there was genuine chemistry with the three main leads. The highly stylized action scenes with their trademark slow-motion and up-to-date soundtracks feel almost like music videos. Impressive guest stars showed up weekly, the latest hits played in the background, and the stories were set against a rich, flashy, glamorous background that you can't help but enjoy watching. The show went for a full season until being canceled due to high production costs. Part of me thinks that the expenses would not have been a problem if the FOX network had not habitually changed what night and time it aired, costing the show countless viewers (especially when they gave it the Friday Night Death Slot). The show lives on in DVDs, but they do not quite do the show justice since the music has since been changed. Many scenes were cut specifically to go with the music, and the soundtracks themselves were highly appealing. With this element removed and replaced with generic music, the show feels a little more ordinary than it rightly would in its original form.An under-appreciated gem of a show.
whole_bit Wondering what's up with this show FASTLANE, sure it's flashy and eye catching but the writing needs help badly. Think about how many times they've come within an inch of their lives or suffered some trauma that should have killed them or other innocents they were 'protecting'. If the show is about protecting people shouldn't they do some things that might lead to the actual safety of an individual? In one episode they abandon a witnesses and are themselves trapped inside an exploding car. Each time they are simply resurrected Dukes of Hazard style after the commercial break. But this show is more violent. Miami Vice was a violent show as well with the whole black cop white cop combination undercurrent, but in most cases they used common sense I wish the show were more intelligent.
ctfunu Fast lane had some of the most accurate and realistic car scenes and chases ever. That's not hard to say because most TV shows and movies are plagued with Idiots who don't know anything about cars and assume the general public is clueless as well. This show was different and is well thought of by gear heads everywhere. Had it been aired on better nights and times it would still be on the air today. The actors were top notch. here it is 2005 and I can't go to any car associated functions with out the mention of this show. This show also tied many different types of people together. The partiers , The gamblers , The racers and the police. All these people were glued to the TV. It's really too bad someone goofed and let it die. Oh yeah that was the TV and Movie Idiot that plagued the rest of the car movies made. They must have been jealous
