Dorathen Better Late Then Never
Chirphymium It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional
ChanFamous I wanted to like it more than I actually did... But much of the humor totally escaped me and I walked out only mildly impressed.
Verity Robins Great movie. Not sure what people expected but I found it highly entertaining.
francescacarmen Rreally liked this show,no, it's not the Sapranos,it's not the Godfather,it happens to be a "semi-fictional account" of life inside the mob as told by an FBI agent who actually lived his life with these people,.of course he could not put everything in with the time cbs gave him, but I think Mr. Pistone did a fantastic job considering I've only heard the other side of the story, but have seen nothing like this! The truth may not be stronger than fiction, but with the time limit he had to deal with, I think Pistone did a great job, the actors were too pretty,"but that only helped" I suggest you read the book, if you've seen the series, before you review this show, you may just want to take a second look!!!!
pamulasue I don't watch much tv. But, I could not stay away from Falcone. Titus Welliver was excellent as Sonny. His facial expressions were a big part of great acting. His character was well written, he had a heart of gold, but, yet was ruthless. I thought all of the characters and the actors portraying them were a winning combination. If CBS knows what it's doing, which I wonder sometimes, they will keep this show on, but with the original cast. I personally don't see anyone else playing those particular characters. When it comes out on video, I'm buying it.
Pat1973 As this show goes it's smart, funny and very sensitive to the audience. As I watch more and more I'm routing for the bad guys and actually like most of them. I know that is a little morbid but it's only a t.v. show. The acting is in place and Eric Roberts and Titus are standouts. It seems so real and very smart. This show deserves to be picked up for the new season. Give this show a shot if it stays on. I know I'll be looking for it. If you loved Goodfellas, Donnie Brasco, and just love mobster t.v. or movies this show is for you. Give it a chance. You will not be disappointed! Falcone the T.V. show gets 4 stars out of 4.
dfcurran Falcone is funny, ( these guys kidnap an $18,500 dog and get stuck with it ), and interesting. But as much as I enjoy watching it, it just just doesn't measure up the late 80's early 90's tv series Wiseguy. Is it coincidence that that bad guy Falcone works for is named Sonny? The main problem here is that the writer's miss every chance for sustaining suspense. The show builds to tense moments then lets them go so quickly we feel cheated. And yet opportunities for suspense abound. Falcone's wife's Maggie--perhaps the best actor in this series--adds a lot of potential for threat. But the writer's seem to back off. Ever hear of drama guys? (When you get the good guy in a bad situation you figure out how to make it worse.) The FBI staff behind Falcone is a joke. In Wiseguy the staff's ruthlessness caused problems. In this show the only FBI guy who causes problems is a complete idiot. The rest of them act as if they are on Eight is Enough. Falcone is worth watching. But if you really want to see how a mob infiltration show should be done, watch reruns of Wiseguy.
