I don't know how this would play if I didn't come from Detroit, but I do, and I love the many references to Detroit culture: Mort Crim, Vernors, Detroit R&B and Soul Music...
The entire cast is terrific but Sam Richardson is one of those brilliant comic actors that comes along every once and awhile, like Pryor and Murphy, who have have instinctive comic timing and charm. He's instantly lovable even while his character is displaying less than a admirable behavior. This show has its own quirky pacing and self awareness that makes it distinctly it's own. I hope people discover it. It's a perfect little comic gem.

When I find myself trapped in an Office marathon; I wonder what it will take to hit guide and find something else. Then Detroiters comes on and I find the will to leave Comedy Central for a while.

While I can't give this show 10 out of 10, it is funny. I look forward to seeing parts of Detroit, and when I do, I either go "yes", or "awww - they could have skipped that". Either way, I love the characters who remind me of my son and his best friend. (I could see them doing some of these things.) By the way, don't be mean and try to come for my son and his best friend - they are my family. LOL! Spoiler alert (maybe?) My favorite episodes were the birthday party, Devereau wigs and the outsiders moving into the building. Hysterical!
