Marketic It's no definitive masterpiece but it's damn close.
Stellead Don't listen to the Hype. It's awful
Console best movie i've ever seen.
StyleSk8r At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
abbagabbitz The "hero," played by Jon-Erik Hexum (Mac Harper) was a sort of Macgyver, before MacGyver, and CBS' seeming answer to the A-Team. He was an "undercover fashion model" for the CIA. Jennifer O'Neill was his partner, and the fashion photographer that made his status plausible. The show was heavy on action, short on scripts. It was sort of an early, not as good or believable, version of the TNT show "Leverage."After 7 episodes, Mr. Hexum, while he was bored waiting for shooting to resume, made the tragic mistake of doing some shooting of his own. Even he realized how insanely and inanely implausible the scripts were, and took a .44 Magnum, partially loaded with "blanks," said something along the lines of "let's see if I can get me," put it to his head and squeezed the trigger. The wadding from the blank sent a chunk of his skull into his brain. Life support was withdrawn 8 days later. Anthony Hamilton (Jack Striker) was brought in as another undercover fashion model for the CIA to complete the remaining episodes. The show was not the answer to the A-Team that CBS had hoped for; and, despite decent ratings, was canceled after one season. If not for Jennifer O'Neill being in every episode, and the brief media sensation caused by Mr. Hexum's tragic demise, it is questionable if the show would have made it through a whole season. There was a brief frenzy also about the need for gun control based on Mr. Hexum's accidental suicide. The theme song can sometimes still be heard: "Holding Out for a Hero."
ShelbyTMItchell Jon Erik Hexum played an ex Green Beret turned CIA agent and model. As he teams up with a photographer played by Jennifer O Neill who help to avenge her husband's death in the pilot. As both were great along with the great character actor Richard Anderson as the intelligent but compassionate boss like in the Six Million Dollar Man he was with.Hexum helped make the show a hit but after he fatally shot himself by playing with a gun loaded with blanks. Not going that playing with blanks can be really dangerous if you stop and think of it.Antony Hamilton portrayed new agent and model Jack Striker. He was good but not as nearly good enough like Hexum. As he himself would die of AIDS himself in 1995.Hexum could had been a big name star and had the looks, really could act, and had the humor and wit and charm. He could had been bigger than Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise combined but sadly we never or never will get to see that potential! Great show that did not take itself seriously.
javier-alcala Original, interesting, and international. Nice looking guy(s) and beautiful women. I really liked this series because it was recorded in around the world locations. The series had a mix of drama, sexy scenes and fast and fighting plots. A sad moment was the end of Hamilton's first episode, when Jennifer is informed that Jon will not work with her any longer. I enjoyed the series back in 1984/85 and I still enjoy it today. The series played the at the time hits and even the theme song, "I need a Hero," was used in a 2004 movie (Shreck 2). I really like the show with Jon-Erik Hexum and, later, Hamilton. The lead lady Jennifer O'Neal was (is) a really beautiful and attractive person. I will highly recommend this series for a relax and entertaining evening.
donald moore Attempting to help the Wright brothers, Phineas, our intrepid, if clumsy, traveler-in-time deeply contemplates running off a cliff edge with a glider --to test aerodynamic designs. Does he correctly comprehend the aerodynamic forces involved? His fellow traveler Jeffrey is worried, running after him, yelling, "You can't...it's suicide!...Bogg!". But Phineas will not be stopped, and, leaping off the cliff, admonishes young Jeffrey, "I'm a Voyager kid! Sometimes you've got to bite the bullet." Alas, Phineas crashes, --not comprehending the aerodynamic forces involved. Phineas is next seen lying deathly still on the ground, Jeffrey rushing to him crying, "Bogg!". Phineas will regain consciousness, of course, and all will be well, of course. This scene is in episode one, and part of it is used in the opening sequence for every episode of "Voyagers!".About two years later, on the set of "Cover Up"...Jon-Eric Hexum, Phineas Bogg of an earlier time, and a highly intelligent man, will foolishly point a prop gun, loaded with blanks, to his head and jokingly pull the trigger. And with this bullet, so unnecessary to bite, Mr. Jon-Eric Hexum proved he still had not learned aerodynamics, this time of exploding gases, so powerful...even poignant.
