tanmay10 It surpasses the comedy bar which US sit-com have set for us , easily. Genius comedy , magnificent acting, interesting plot , weird but likable characters , this show has it all. The speeches given by Jack in the show , has to be the best speeches on those topics.There was a speech on why Male loves Vagina , and the speech was delivered with such splendid performance , gosh - one of the best speeches I have heard. The characters are weird , everyone with varying characters , interesting personalities, and on that a unique one. People compare this to friends , but the only thing common between the shows are both have 3 male leads and 3 female leads. This show is legit funny , its definitely worth a shot.

Tim This is a marvelous British comedy, written beautifully with a plot whose twists and turns can't possibly be predicted. The interplay between the characters -- none of whom is much like any other -- is priceless. Even the music is nice. The first series is better than the others, and the Oliver (a late addition) isn't quite as funny as Jeff, whom he in effect replaces. But it's ALL worth watching.I'll wager any male who watches 'Coupling' prays he's never been perceived as similar to either Jeff or Oliver, neither of whom has any common sense or confidence with women. Susan is the most intelligent and steady of the seven regulars -- 'apparently'. Jane is the most self-centred of the women; Patrick is an unashamed sex addict; while Steve is also nervous but has very definite and funny opinions. But Sally seems the funniest of all, constantly worrying about her looks, particularly her bottom, which she's sure 'flirts with men behind her back'.And nothing seems off-limits -- the discussion features talk of the sizes of male AND female genitalia. The length of Patrick's manhood seems to be a topic in every episode. Women's bottoms are also a recurring theme, particularly among the women, who discuss not only Sally's but Susan's and those of other women as well.Due to the constant stream of sex talk, 'Coupling' is not for children. But it's certainly for anyone who wants a steady stream of laughs!

Bill Peter I've watched this series on TV and on DVD umpteen times and every time it makes me laugh out loud. During the financial crisis it's been about the only silver lining. It's a combination of real, familiar characters, true-to-life situations, plus great scripts and a BRILLIANT ENSEMBLE CAST. What more could you ask for? I haven't seen the American version and I don't want to. It makes me shiver to just think about how they'd ruin it. Just remember the Wicker Man. They turned a horror film into a comedy. Some people have called it a British Friends. The major difference is that Coupling has proper actors, and it really does make a BIG difference.

preppy-3 The lives and loves of three Britsh men and women. Sort of like a British version of "Friends".I was surprised to see there's only a grand total of 28 episodes considering it ran 4 years! I caught this on BBC America. The insertion of commercials hurt the shows a little--it broke up the flow of dialogue and acting. Still it was always very funny. The shows have VERY explicit sexual talk (for USA viewers at least) and it shocked me a little...but I'd be lying if I said I didn't laugh. The cast were all attractive and young and were very good in their respective roles. Also there is some partial nudity (both male and female) in certain episodes. This isn't for everybody but if you would like a fun, sexually explicit (mostly in talk) British sitcom--it's right here! Well worth seeing.
