Synopsis

What do farm animals really do when the humans aren't looking? Just ask Otis, a carefree "party cow" who inherited the job of keeping the barn... and it's residents... in order. But instead of responsibility, Otis is driven by an insatiable need for fun, fun, fun. Along with his barnyard friends Pip, Pig and Freddy, Otis will stop at nothing in his pursuit of a good time... which usually means a few close calls with humans and other threats to what really goes on behind closed barndoors.

Reviews

GrimPrecise I'll tell you why so serious
Keeley Coleman The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;
Kaelan Mccaffrey Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.
Rosie Searle It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
Heavenly King Some of the reviews, down here, are totally retarded. I didn't know that stupid people have the right to write reviews on this site.Anyway, if any of you, smart guys, start to watch this cartoon, you will find out,eventually, that this TV series is very interesting, promising and adorable at some point. Personally, i watched it all in my language, and i loved it. It has great humour, smart plot, and amazing lines.However, I gave a 7 out of 10, for 3 reasons, and it surprises me that no one mentioned them. 1. It passes some feminist messages: They make the female characters look stronger and way smarter than male characters. Watch Abby and Bessy for example. Otis looks like a stupid, weak, and helpless little cow in contrast with them. Also, Abby can lift weight, but the pig can't. WTF? Who wrote the script? A woman? 2. Bessy insults everyone for no reason, and especially the male characters, and acts like she doesn't give a fk. That's what a man would do, and it's completely disgusting and inappropriate if a woman does that. IT'S JUST NOT RIGHT! Once again, did a woman write the script? 3. Vegeterian crap. In an episode, they make Freddy admit to be vegan, even though he really isn't. He admits he doesn't want to eat his best friend, Peck the chicken, even though he tried many times to eat him in a lot of episodes. The animals are not dumb like human beings. They eat their prays, and they don't go against the food chain, like humans. If they are carnivorous, like humans, they eat meat. If they are vegetarians, they don't. They can't be both, and they can't change their way of life and nature. So, it's twisted and weird, by nature, to watch a carnivores animal go vegan like in this show. Once again, animals are not dumb like humans.I have to say, though, that this cartoon is made mostly for young ages, even though most of their lines and plot are appropriate for all ages, cause they are funny, smart, and amazing, if you leave Bessy and Abby (in some cases) aside, of course.
kiti22 This was one of the most poorly written cartoons of all timeThe plot made no sense The soundtrack from that cartoon was stupid The Theme Song was LoudThe voice acting is TerribleThe episodes are lame (there almost like a bad episode of Family Guy or like a bad episode of space goofs)The characters are dumb and annoying and stupidAnd the most annoying character ever was Ottis's sidekick or Friend All Heros and Villains needs sidekicks There a bit useless but smart, cute, amusing and funny, But for pip hes not cute not funny not amusing, hes so stupid And annoyingFreddy and Peck is a lame Rip-Off of Timon&PumbaWell All the Farm Animals from Back at the Barnyard are a Complete Disgrace to the Animal KingdomEugene "Snotty Boy" Beady is a rip-off of nelson from the Simpson's (i hate that boy,i hate his voice, i hate his laugh and i hate his hair) Hes Worse than Shelby the Turtle from Mickey Mouse Works&House of MouseThe references from movies and TV shows are uselessThis show was terrible,Disgusting, Boring, Not funny at all, and one of the of the worst shows of all time Even Lilo&Stitch the Series is a Better Animated Show based on a Movie than this Want to see a good cartoon Go watch Pokemon or Digimon or my little pony: friendship is magic or littlest pet shop or avatar the last air-bender or dragon ball z Kai insteadAnd then stay far away from that cartoon
bull-904-250226 This cartoon series is one of the zaniest and enjoyable out there. Most shows based on movies tend to be pale imitations, but the writers behind "Back at the Barnyard" series give it a silly yet entertaining life beyond the silver screen. There's lots of pop references (ranging from "The Dark Knight" to "Survivor" to "Star Trek" and humor that the grown-ups can enjoy, and enough oddball fun and jokes that the younger set can laugh at as well. Like a sophisticated sitcom, this show relies heavily on a strong ensemble effort, so it's carried by all major and minor characters. Not every episode is a laugh riot gem, but enough are that it'll grow on you.My kids and I miss seeing this show but are hoping they'll release all the episodes on DVD soon.
gonelunch1 OK, this isn't Robot Chicken, but it is well written with spot-on pop references and nicely developed characters. Yes, Otis has an udder. No, I don't know why the "totally vegan" farmer keeps a farmyard full of animals (but it's nice to know my little animated friends are safe). The story lines actually keep me guessing, and the CGI is surprisingly sophisticated, especially for a TV show. Watching this show is a little like going to a Bowling for Soup concert - don't go into it expecting a deeply intellectual experience, just prepare for a terrific party! Nick's new cartoons have been a mixed bag lately, with some uninspired entries (Tak and the Power of Juju) and some terrible ones (The Mighty B). This show is a welcome reminder of just how good Nick can be.
