Perry Kate Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
Grimerlana Plenty to Like, Plenty to Dislike
Dorathen Better Late Then Never
Adeel Hail Unshakable, witty and deeply felt, the film will be paying emotional dividends for a long, long time.
hkipp I've just started watching Alice I think with my family and we always get a good laugh out of the show! The writing is clever and witty and the characters do a great job performing this kind of satirical humor. I especially like Alice & the dad John and their quirky, awkward relationship. One of the episodes that sticks out in my mind is when John (Dan Payne) is asked to model for the local sport store...it is hilarious! It completely goes to his head and as he struts his stuff around the small town of Smithers thinking every woman MUST be in love with him, his family just shakes their heads! This is an original kind of TV comedy and we never miss it - we are looking forward to several more seasons of our new favorite comedy!
benweinberger I've only been able to catch one episode so far - I don't know why it's not playing on a US cable network - it's pretty funny. This show should be picked-up by one of the networks on DirecTv here; I guess it's just a matter of time.I never read the books or anything, but the story line of the episode I saw was pretty funny - the kid who played Alice's boyfriend was an absolute freak.I like the kid (Connot something or other) who plays her brother, and the dad (Dan Payne). Dan's a bit of a freak - he should be doing Saturday Night Live or something - I think his inner funny is trying to get out - though he looks a bit more leading-man type.
senora_bonita This show is like a live action 'Family Guy'! The Dad character is hilarious! I hope there are more and I hope the US gets it so all my friends can understand what I keep telling them about the show! The best part is there is something for everyone. I thought it might be for teens more but the Dad guy and his friends are great for adults! Finally a quality Canadian program! I hope there is more to come! It started on the comedy network channel but now it is also on CTV Which I didn't know until my friend pointed it out! Check it out Sundays CTV @7pm Canada brings the comedy! The story lines are based on books by Susna Juby whose writings are internationally renowned. It is really cool to see characters come to life from books. I only read the books because my daughter read them and I heard her giggling and thought I better screen her literary choices. Glad I did! I am not sure where the show is going to go from here but I hope it keeps going. It, like Corner Gas, is helping strengthen the Canadian world of TV respect. If anyone knows more about Dan Payne (the Dad) and Connor Price (the son) please let me know? Just wondering if I have seen them before!
susi-solovera Ohhhh.....I wish I could live in Canada to see this new comedy show on a regular basis...unfortunately I only had the chance to see one single episode, but it was worth it! I had a very good laugh and was very impressed that Canadian Comedy could be that good, for I do not know much about Canadian TV (exept for some Scifi shows...). The actors all were very talented, it was a lot of fun to watch. The idea of Alice giving short "interviews" about her current situation was very good, I liked especially that a lot. Dan Payne, who plays Alice's father, made an outstanding performance, very funny, very...different.I really hope to see more of this show. Hopefully it will air in Germany one day, I would *love* to see more of it. Very entertaining, very surprising!
