GamerTab That was an excellent one.
Chirphymium It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional
Maleeha Vincent It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.
Nicole I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.
rubieangelinaglew The show is honestly shocking. when i finishes reading thirteen reasons why (the book by jay asher), i felt a little sad, a little shaken up, but also positive. the book showed that hannah was dealing with issues that were made worse by the way she was treated, and that we should always try to help people in any way we can no matter what. the show completely ruined this and turned it into a revenge story. TRIGGER WARNINGS : rape, sexual assault, suicidein the book, hannah was not raped in the same way as seen in the show - she was fingered. of course this is awful and in no way good at all, but there was absolutely no reason for it to be turned into penetrative rape. as well as this, in the book she did not slit her wrists in a bathtub - she overdosed on pills. obviously the suicide scene should not have been shown at all, but showing her taking too many pills would have been at least a fraction easier to watch than her sitting in the bathtub slitting her wrists - you can actually see the razor blade cutting into the skin. netflix was clearly trying to make everything more dramatic. not only does this make the show more triggering, but it also invalidates things that are not so extreme that can still mentally harm people. these are not the only things season one exaggerates, although they are the only triggering examples of netflix trying to make everything more dramatic. as well as this, the scenes were just so, so triggering that i could barely watch them. netflix made a huge mistake with season to as well, as i have heard about the rape scene that takes place. however, i have decided not to watch season two because of how triggering the first season was. netflix really made a mistake here.
Mr_Masterjones First of all and before review the series I must say that this show has a very important and well receive message about pressure and struggles students have in their high school, this is not something that should take lightly and I dont think any series or movies matter of fact showed something bold and blunt like this before. At the beginning We very well introduce to the series, characters and storyline and slowly begun to feel the pain and knowing mysteries and twists of the story. Everything is just in place, story isnt too slow to bore u or too fast to be cursory. Dialougs, drama and twists are good, acting, directing, plots and chemistry between characters are at very best. We dont have any totally evil or dumb characters that we usually see in this type of stories and thats a relife, just stuped immature teenagers doing things without thinking of consequences.Series in season 1 gets better episode by episode and thats mostly because of the good writing and directing besides the great job of its actor. We slowly get going with the story and with each tape get more attached and sympathetic. We learn how little things can effect your life in big ways and change it forever. Series has very important messages and topics besides the obvious, Its talking about love, loss, family, love, friendship, loneliness and so many more meaningful things, isnt just focus on bullying at school. Everything about this show was good from beginning to the end until they decide to continue the series in further seasons. They could have a very beautiful and inspiring ending scene in season 1 and wrapping the story up with a beautiful sad goodbye between main characters and end the story and series at its best but instead decided to continue the story which it was a huge mistake. Me personally before watching season 2, had hoped somehow with amazing stuff I saw in the first seson next season would be great too but that was false hope. One of the thing I loved most from season 1 was the dark and realistic theme of it which in season 2 almost faded. Not that this season was bad and unwatchable or not dark enough but could have been so much better. The first three episode was no good, little bit shallow and far away from the theme, mood and frame of the first season but in the middle gets back on track but then lost it in the finall episode and all that in 15 minutes. And again they should have ended series in this season or season one but instead decided to continue the story in one more season and without Hanna which thats just ridiculous because hole story is about her. One other thing that I didnt like about this season was what they did to hannas character that definitely reduced her popularity. At the end, personally rathered series had ended in one or at least two seasons with an artistic intense and sad goodbye scene but I guess You cant get always what you want. This was a worth watching tv series even I doubt it watching season 3. Series has alot of good and important topics to discuss but it has its flaws and ups and downs but still definitely is a great and watchable series, I just wish they lead it in a different direction. and one last thing I just love Katherine Langford and Dylan Minnette, very promising actors and definitely hear more from them in future.
modyprosaad But season 2 is bad especially the last episode of the series
Paul Evans I'm always stunned when I see a show with such a high rating, but one that has such successful low scoring reviews. Having read a few reviews I'm surprised to see people that hated the show, stuck with it, until series two's conclusion. A mystery to me.Personally I really enjoyed 13 reasons why, and far from glamourising teen suicide, I believe it showed it to be a hirrifhoact, with long reaching factors, and I believe it also showed the pressures faced by today's young generation, the pressures and expectations they feel they must live up to.Some episodes were better then others, but the high standard of storytelling and acting was maintained throughout. I think the Hannah Baker plot has now reached saturation point, so I'm relieved to see she won't appear in the third series.I must take issue with the producers for making the infamous toilet scene so graphic, that was totally unnecessary.Hopefully this show can help someone who's feeling particularly low realise that life is supremely precious.
