Moustroll Good movie but grossly overrated
SanEat A film with more than the usual spoiler issues. Talking about it in any detail feels akin to handing you a gift-wrapped present and saying, "I hope you like it -- It's a thriller about a diabolical secret experiment."
Nayan Gough A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.
Rosie Searle It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
Zev Definitely the most underrated movie on IMDB in my opinion. Most of the bad reviews and ratings are probably from kids and guys expecting a standard zombie movie involving an apocalypse and lots of gore and action. This is none of those things, and it offers so much more for the discerning horror movie fan.It is the perfect blend of romance and horror, and deals with a single zombie: A newly married young guy and the hell that his loving wife must endure while trying to stick with her man who is slowly turning into a monster. The horror as well as the drama builds and builds, making this a true horror movie because it involves people you care about.Everyone delivers a great performance, especially Tracy Coogan in a heartbreaking role, and the writing knows where the proper focus is in this movie. There is even a long, very memorable and disturbing scene of a zombie feeding on people that shows only her reaction and none of the gore, demonstrating the director's vision and superb horror sense. The story is simple, but this is about people, and they all pull it off powerfully. It gets better every time I watch it.
thirteenprime We're all up to here in zombie movies these days, but this one's a little different. It's also a love story, and not a bad one: Boy meets girl, boy marries girl, boy eats everybody in the neighborhood. The standout here is Tracy Coogan as Denise, clearly the star of this ensemble film, who keeps this film centered and on course as wackiness breaks out all around her. (One of the adorable things about Tracy is how her native Irish accent sometimes breaks through the general American one she's assumed for her character.) Tracy has, I think, the best scene in the film: Toward the end, when her zombie husband Danny (Graham Sibley) has killed all the cops and their friends and is looking around the house for her, Denise is seen cleaning off her makeup and putting on a nice, red dress -- a clear reference to something that happened during an earlier scene in a restaurant. Denise seats herself on their bed, carefully arranges her skirt around her, and waits resignedly for her husband to come upstairs and kill her. And then something happens.I understand there's a sequel in the works after more than ten years. Talk about your zombie movies.
J_kotowicz I'm a zombie fan. I am a zombie movie fan. I am a zombie liturature fan. I am a zombie philospher. Home, at work, the science of the undead is always on my mind. Zombie Honeymoon, was thee most asinine, horrible, contrite...hodgepodge of b.s, ever, and that is my respectful opinion of it. Exactly, 20 minutes in I began watching it on 1.5 Speed. The newly weds ran on the beach, surfted on puny waves and had sex in inapproprate places. Then a seaweed cloaked zombie climbed up from the deep. Then..Vomited bile on the groom and...expired? Then the groom dies, choaking, perhaps. But really, he writhes for a second and like a candle in the wind, he is gone. To the hospital, he suddenly breaths again! Hallijulia! and feeling pretty good for being exceedinly, lifelessly, dead for 10 minutes, The Groom and Wife go home, la-de-da, wasn't that exciting? Sex. Then She...drives, and drives, and drives as a semi-polluted NJ creeps by to a store. Now, we watch on x10 speed. Then there is a cop, a returned surfboard, a missing man and "this is the strangest thing to happen." ever. In NJ. ...Slowly, painfully slow, the Groom rots and his enevitable zombie urge begins. And by the power of true love,he won't eat his wife. But everyone else, biting faces, arms, noses, wrists, necks, while he falls apart, breaks into sores and chokes on his words. SURELY, seeing your husband, the love of your life, waste away into an abomination is better than simply, ending the misery. Yes, that is how i like my love ones, committing atrocities so we can stay together. ...The movie ends. The bride escapes, laughing, crying, all at x130 speed. ...Showtime will endorse anything.
Julian Ferris Well, ill have to say this is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The only reason why have given this movie a two is because I found some parts of the movie, " funny ". Not because of what the movie had to put forward to the viewers but because of how much it sucked! The directing sucked, the acting sucked, nearly everything of the movie just, sucked. I say nearly, because there were some " gruesome parts " in the movie, but it simply got the movie nowhere. The plot killed it, how can a wife continue to act normal after her husband randomly eats a man man?, and she cleans up the bloody mess for him with a jolly music background! In My opinion, DO NOT waste your time watching this. Don't get fooled by the some bits of gore because in the end the movie will just waste your time like it did with me.
