Lumsdal Good , But It Is Overrated By Some

goodtexasattorney Do you love science fiction but are getting tired of the Marvel Universe and Galaxies Far, Far Away? This is a Sci Fi movie that feels like a classic western novel. It has wonderful character development and fine acting. The lives of the characters become important you as you watch, and they are not overshadowed by the special effects. If you are a Hollywood blockbuster fan, this movie is not for you. However, if you gravitate towards independent films and can think and feel at the same time, you will really like this one!

lederman-michael I just watched this movie (yes a bit late to the game) and was amazed at the, well everything. It was a minimalist movie for the genre but did so much with what they had it seemed like a big budget film. The story is compelling and you actually come to feel emotions for the characters. The direction was outstanding with shots that brought you into the action while at the same time made you feel alone in the desert. Lastly the actors how this movie escaped the Academy is beyond me. Each one brought an element unique to their part of the story from Michael Shannon who was outstanding as the farmer who struggled to keep thing as sane as possible for his children and who hoped for better days with such devotion as to be palpable. To Nicholas Hoult who showed more range than any young actor has a right to. But the rest of the cast each added an element that together make this film amazing.

patriciovilches The movie doesn't add much to the sci-fi genre.But, the story can be interesting if you pay a lot of attention. That's one of the major problems with this movie: The story starts in a boring way making it a challenge to keep up watching but it changes it's paste when getting near to the end.At least, the actors did their best to show emotions(which are basically anger & revenge). What i liked a lot was that the movie shows many young actors with potential to make more interesting movies IF they still follow these same styles of films. I somehow feel that this movie could have been much more if the story was developed in a other way. In conclusion, i think this movie was not that bad but neither would i watch it again.

kosmasp Let's get this right of the bat: This is a low budget movie and it is draining the viewer (slow paced). But just because you have some recognizable faces, do not expect this to be "Hollywood" (as one other reviewer did). And do not even think about comparing this to Tarantino. If that's what you expect/your whole extension of movie knowledge, do not read any further, but especially: do not watch this movie at all. You'll be doing yourself a favor mostly.Back to the actors, who are giving extraordinary performances. No matter the age of the ones involved, we do get amazing on our screen. While to some it might seem there is no story, that is not true. It's just hidden well behind all that character driven development we're seeing. It's not a fun ride, but it's a well made one!
