GamerTab That was an excellent one.
Stevecorp Don't listen to the negative reviews
Glimmerubro It is not deep, but it is fun to watch. It does have a bit more of an edge to it than other similar films.
WillSushyMedia This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.
Harry Lags Released in 1961, Wild In The Country would offer Elvis his last serious role in a film by a significant director (Philip Dunne). He gives what may be his finest acting performance as a troubled young man from a dysfunctional family whose passion is really writing. There were fine supporting roles played by Millie Perkins as his girlfriend Betty Lee, Tuesday Weld as his cousin Noreen, and Hope Lange as his psychiatrist.Although not ranked as high in my all time favourite Elvis movies, i found it a bit slow moving, but it is still worth the watch, and I think that the movie was good but then again i am an Elvis fan.
groenewoudj This is Elvis's best movie! He play's his part so strong. It's a great and emotional story. Beautiful songs. and lots of them! All of them Classics! The story is about a young man. He has some issues of his own. A very nice woman decides to help him. The ending is very special. it sticks with you. They don't make them like this anymore. Elvis was a pure man. There was no mask. The only actor who makes pure movies like Elvis is Johnny Depp. I think that Elvis's early movie were his finest. before he started doing the girls girls girls movies. There never will be another movie like Wild in the Country.Hail to the King!
dangfuling "Wild in the Country" presents the following credible scenario: a) the King is a loser, but with an untapped talent for writing; b) Hope Lange checks him out as he comes before community elders, deciding how to deal with his delinquencies; c) Tuesday Weld is something like an unwed-mother cousin, who hangs around waiting for a guy to make her whole (and no one, no one, shows up); d) Gary Lockwood is a jerk with a weak heart who dies after Elvis punches him once; e) John Ireland is Gary's dad, loves Hope, and is hanging around waiting for a gal to make him whole; f) given the choices (Millie Perkins, Hope, and Tuesday), Mr. Presley goes "wild in the country" for Ms. Lange ("ma'am"); and, gee) given that Elvis loves her, Hope decides to...SPOILER.4.5 stars is about right; there's a nice scene where the porch is hosed, while the youngsters fake insobriety.
w96817 I've seen this movie 10 times and read the book "The Lost Country" which is what the movie based upon. In the book, character Glenn Tyler is a student and Irene Sperry is a teacher. They later fall in love. The book was written by J.R. Salamanca about the childhood of a country boy and his struggles to become successful. I've created a website with full comprehensive review. You can email me for the web site. I suggest this movie and book to everyone. Actress Hope Lange was great. She bought the character of Irene Sperry alive on screen.
