Actuakers One of my all time favorites.
Console best movie i've ever seen.
ChanFamous I wanted to like it more than I actually did... But much of the humor totally escaped me and I walked out only mildly impressed.
Brendon Jones It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
becky878 Steven is mad as hell in this movie. Gangs are battling over drugs in this movie, and his son gets killed in the mix. That brings Steven to town for revenge. He is a badass dropping expletives and beating down gangbangers at every turn. There is police corruption, drugs, a hot chick that he lives above in a shabby apartment, Steven hacking into files, this one has so much to love. And man is he angry! None of that disinterested Steven like in some movies, he is downright laying the smack down. Lots of fight scenes, shootouts, driving chase scenes. And Eddie Griffin is hilarious. You don't usually get this level of acting from support characters in Seagal movies, but Eddie has some genuinely funny lines. You have got to check this one out. There are several quotable one-liners that you'll be using for years to come. This movie once again proves that you do not want to be on Seagal's bad side!
bbb_sb Steven Seagal is fat. OK. Steven Seagal doesn't care about his fans, he only cares about the money. OK. Steven Seagal is egoistic. OK. I can live with that. But... Steven Seagal REALLY can't act. Like it's something we didn't already know. And acting is a pretty important thing if you're considering yourself an actor. The worst part is that he continues to make movies, terrible movies, and gets away with it, collecting generous paychecks. Only thing that changes is his character's name. The only reason I got this movie 4* is that I was impressed with Jade Yorker's performance and that there were couple of OK fighting scenes, I guess. But man, that kid CAN act, he really show passion and emotions. Why is it so hard for Steven to try and show us some emotions, like he did? Sadness, happiness, compassion etc. He continues to maintain the same facial expression throughout his whole filmography, and that (now that he got old and really obese) irritates me, because I know he can do better, I guess he just doesn't care. He also continues to show his egoism which is pretty visible in the other character's lines. The plot for this movie is pretty bad, you can predict almost from the start. I knew who the main "bad guy" was since I first saw him in the movie, and I don't want to know that right away, I want something surprising. Gangs, shooting, money, corrupt cop(s), one woman, car chasing, fight scenes (obviously speeded up and unreal sometimes, especially the "fist in a gunfight" scene)... and that's about it. We saw that a million times ago in cinematography. It tends to get pretty boring. Also, I really didn't like Eddie Griffin's role as Armand Tucker, I thought it was pretty overacted. For me, if you really want to see a relatively good Seagal movie made in 21st century, watch Pistol Whipped and Exit Wounds, the only good movies in which he starred since the 1996 and Executive Decision (in which he died, ironically), they were much better altogether, and skip this crap, please. Even if you're a fan. I once considered myself a Seagal fan, but with this ego trips he completely lost my respect for him as an actor and as a human being.
namashi_1 Steven Seagal is in Top-Form in 'Urban Justice'. A Bad-Ass, Unforgiving, No-Holds-Barred Flick, that truly holds your interest. Seagal deserves the highest praises for putting up such a good show!'Urban Justice' Synopsis: A man with a dark and violent past, seeks revenge for the murder of his son.'Urban Justice' is no-holds-barred cinema. It entertains thoroughly & the action-sequences are damn good. The Screenplay is brisk & entertaining. Don E. Fauntleroy's Direction is impressive. Cinematography, Editing & Art Design, are fair.Performance-Wise: Seagal, obviously, steals the show with a hard-core performance. He's in Top Form! Eddie Griffin is as usual. Jade Yorker does his bit ably. Carmen Serano is decent. Danny Trejo appears in a cameo. On the whole, 'Urban Justice is a great fun. Seagal Rules!
ianlouisiana Welcome back to the world of Wile E. Coyote. This is great stuff,Steve,I haven't laughed so much at a movie since your masterpiece "Under Siege". Honestly,I loved "Urban Justice. Here's the Stevester at his fearsome best - really p*ssed off at a bunch of homeys he suspects might have had something to do with the murder of his hero - cop (natch) son. There's a top gangsta (Mr E.Griffin)who looks like Little Richard yet wears a headscarf Dot Cotton might covet and clearly, from his conversation, considers most men to have been the victims of some appalling Freudian sexual trauma in their past. He's quite tough, indeed tough enough to use the "N" word to his underlings when the mood is on him.He also uses racial slurs towards the Stevester, but he's got broad shoulders and knows that sticks and stones may break his bones but words will never hurt him. There's a bad cop who's handy with a B.A.R.but Big Steve has truth and justice on his side(natch, again)and only needs a B.A. Countless Boys from the 'Hood bite the dust as Steve kills 'em all, happy to let God sort 'em out.None of them was actually responsible for his son's murder, but hey, let's not get picky here............. In short,"Urban Justice" is a hugely enjoyable movie that Mr Seagal's admirers should knock down the doors of the local Rental Store to get to.However, they should try to avoid screaming "die, motherf*cker!" at the assistant before blowing him away.
