Juana what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

Top Gun is heartfelt, emotional and fun thanks to great direction, Tom Cruise's charm and lots of great 80's music and to be honest, i still don't get it how critics hated this film it's just freaking awesome. theterminator-92378 in the 80's action movies were the movies of the decade and Top Gun was a movie that i loved. whether you enjoy war and army based action movies Top gun is all of those things but it has romance between the main Character and one of his instructors and the balance of the action and the romance works. Tom cruse is at the height of his career and this movie sets him up in a iconic role as the lead character Maverick and his flying partner Goose played by Anthony Edwards was Mavericks friend but also someone who he can put his problems on and they have a unique relationship Kelly Mcgillis is Charlie the love interest of Maverick and a instructor at the top gun academy and they have such a great relationship which is shown on screen. The rival of Maverick and Goose is Iceman who is played by Val Kilmer who is a cool headed fighter pilot who has skills which match Maverick. Top gun works its a movie that repeats danger zone like 5 times but every time it just works and you've lost that loving felling by the Righteous brothers and the music is done perfectly and the story is compelling it works and i always love this movie and i honestly couldn't ask for changes love it.

kz917-1 What fun this movie is! Handsome dashing fighter pilots vying to be the best of the best and be awarded Top Gun. The music really pushes this film over the top. Rock-n-Roll when it needs to be, yet also sexy and romantic. This movie has it all. The high flying action sequences, the pithy comedic classroom scenes, the shirtless locker room and beach scenes (eye candy for all the ladies!). Buckle in and get ready for a ride. I feel the need, the need for speed!

alfCycle Man, this movie is painfully cheesy and lame. Over the top macho machismo mixed with godawful corny romance. The worst of both worlds! I'm all for cheesy 80's movies. I love Roadhouse for it's over the top ridiculousness, but Top Gun is just painful to watch at times. This movie is clearly aimed at immature teenagers of the 80's. Since I was an immature teenager of the 90's, I can't really relate to this movie. I'm sure people that were 80's teens probably have a nostalgic tie to this movie, much like I have to some 90's movies. However, judging this purely as a film, I'd have to say Top Gun is not something I would recommend to anyone looking for a quality movie to watch. There were a couple moments of unintentional humor that made me laugh out loud and the aerial action scenes are very well done, so I'll give the movie a few points for that.4/10************SPOILERS************By the way, is it just me or is his lady friend kind of an a-hole? His best friend just died and she's grilling him for being a quitter!
