Stometer Save your money for something good and enjoyable
SpunkySelfTwitter It’s an especially fun movie from a director and cast who are clearly having a good time allowing themselves to let loose.
Ava-Grace Willis Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.
Rosie Searle It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
Cory I'll start by saying the only reason I rated it a 2 instead of a 1 is because anytime I see a movie made without any kind of budget I will never rate it a 1 because they are trying regardless. I reserve my 1 ratings for movies that have a big budget and are backed by a studio. Something like the Blair witch project. I don't understand how people like that movie. It is so boring.. but onto this movie. How anyone would ever and I mean EVER give this movie a high rating or say how scared they were are either the dumbest people or people that can't go outside of their room without crapping themselves because their footstep was too loud. The only other reason would be because they are either involved with the film or know someone that was. Just trust me if you enjoy watching movies or even just staring at absolutely nothing, you'd be a million times better off staring at a blank screen for a couple days than trying to get through this movie. You could even hate staring at nothing and still be better off doing so. Ughhhhh I wish I never watched this pile of garbage and I hope that my review can save someone from doing the same.
jfgibson73 The Sighting is about Bigfoot attacks in the Montana woods. In this story, there is a tribe of Bigfoots rather than one. Two guys are trying to cross the border at night when they first see them. Some exposition is piped in and the attacks continue for several more scenes. The main character survives and the police suspect that he faked the attacks and killed the other people he was with. It seems like it's heading towards one of those endings where everything we were seeing was the delusions of the murderer, killing without realizing it. However, they give an open-ended finish in which the main character sets up a camera and waits by the woods. The idea is that he's so distraught that people don't believe him that he's willing to die to prove the creatures are real. That's actually a more clever ending than anyone would expect from everything that came before. It seemed like everything would be complete clichés and reused tropes. They actually go so far as to throw in a visual homage to the Psycho shower scene, replicating some the quick-cut shots. As far as the acting, I didn't think it was bad so much as strange. People spoke with such unusual timing and cadence that something just felt off. Overall, I would say this is one to skip. Not goofy enough to be enjoyed for its ineptitude, and no clear shots of the creatures, who look like dudes with strips of fur hanging off of them.
Meta Pomeiske Why are movies so bad these days? I don't get it. This is a z-movie. The most scariest thing in this flick is this boob job gone wrong. Boy, I have never seen such misplaced boobies!!! True shocker. One can foresee the coming events...Lost shoes in the woods, there is screaming, there is running involved, a cabin in the wild, two idiots and guns...boring boring, not worth money nor time. I even haven't got enough words to describe how terrible this movie is to submit my review. There is really nothing worth mentioning about this flick. Nothing sticks out. In my humble opinion, I recommend to sink yourself into a good series instead of this...."film"
cartoondepot OK, I just ejected the DVD, and I'm just gonna start writing some thoughts.Wow.Good job, Badfritter films. Lots of good things about what could have been a terrible movie. Somehow you managed to avoid a load of opportunities to screw it up! It doesn't give anything away to say I like the ending. If it turned out the way I suspected, I was gonna be disappointed. But you went a little further, and muddied that tidy ending up. Good move. I think the average joe will have different opinions as to what really happened. That's good. You want people to ponder after the film, so thoughts linger. You find yourself wanting to go back and look at the film again for hidden clues. Also, you used techniques of the older classic horror movies that work. It made me think of the classic 1950's horror film, THE THING, which never clearly showed the monster, to GREAT effect. You probably know that movie? The trick is to not show enough of the creature to make viewers go, "What cheap special effects." , but you DO show enough of the creature to ignite the imagination and let the viewer fill in the blanks, which makes for much more effective psychological horror. And that's exactly what you did. Another good decision. The problem with modern horror is that there's no mystery anymore, with excellent special effects that show every detail. You wisely avoided that.Do I have any critical thoughts?.....Well, the opening sequence is very misleading. Maybe that's a good thing, maybe not. It's full of partying teenagers, etc and the first thing that went through my head was, "Oh, this is gonna be one of those movies where there's hints of teen sex, that get interrupted by slashing until all the characters are dead. Great, another one of those predictable movies." I was so relieved when the movie moved away from that. As soon as the 2 guys were on the road, the movie changed, and it was a different film altogether. It's good that happens early in the movie, because as a film rental, you might lose people before the movie gets going, and they might pop the thing out and not watch it all. But it changes from teen-slasher -film so early that it still keeps you in, and interested. (Yes, there's gratuitous gore here and there, but you didn't over-do it, or under-do it. I don't like gore films, but I can take it.) The main guy who plays Travis is a good actor, and the other dude that plays his friend does fine as well. He's a little annoying, as he should be. The guy who plays the Sasquatch crypto expert is VERY good. It's his behavior that I studied for clues as to what really happened. As an artist, I also liked the fact that Travis was nervously sketching and writing in his journal all the time, and surrounded by art in his room. Also, the chalkboard art depicting the history of Sasquatch was very good. Art and writing is a big factor of the main character in this film. Scary!
