Scanialara You won't be disappointed!

Hayden Kane There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
Mathilde the Guild Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
A_Different_Drummer And since it is the job of the ever-vigilant reviewer to spot problems here we go with my notes, humbly submitted: * on paper this must have looked great, a nice twist on the old "prince charming" tale * great cast! Stiles is always good; as is Richardson; Ben Miller steals every scene not otherwise nailed down * and that is where the good news runs out. The script mysteriously cuts short the portion of the story that is the most fun (the prince incognito at school) and fast forwards into the most tedious scenes at the castle. There are editing and pacing problems galore. Almost a clinic here on how NOT to cut a movie and then the elephant in the room, the chemistry between the two young lovebirds ... does not exist. I cannot easily think of a movie with worse chemistry between the stars. When they kiss, sensitive viewers may actually grimace, that is how bad the pairing is For some mysterious reason a DTV sequel was made? Only shows that the public and the critics don't always see eye to eye
juneebuggy This movie surprised me because despite its teen audience draw and unoriginal Cinderella storyline I really liked it. Maybe I was drawn in by the romantic wish-fulfilment fantasy as I'm far from the target audience but the story grew on me (initially I wasn't that impressed).By the end though I was really rooting for our couple and actually unsure as to how they were going to get their HEA. I also appreciated how they addressed the fact that pre-med student 'Paige' would be giving up her entire life for her prince and that maybe, as glamorous as it seemed this wasn't the life she wanted. I always enjoy Julia Stilles and she does a good job here. The story is an opposites attract, modern day fairytale following a bookish, farm girl senior who falls for a cocky exchange student at a Wisconsin college, unaware that he is really the prince of Denmark.Luke Mably plays prince Edvard and I hated him in the beginning but genuinely came to like the character he became. There were some funny moments here, good secondary characters and I found that despite the fairy tale quality of the story it wasn't clichéd. The lawnmower race for example was fun and a unique aspect as "Eddie goes to stay with Paige's family on their farm. I also enjoyed Edvard's man servant, his addiction to video games.I did get quite wrapped up in the romance here and thought that the outcome was actually bittersweet involving sacrifice. 5/17/15
fzki spu I usually enjoy girly movies, but this one was just bad all along. What annoyed me during the whole thing was, that Danish people don't actually have British accents, if you want to cast a Brit, then make him a price of England. Even the Danish spoken in the movie didn't sound Danish at all to me. Amerika's ignorance on that matter astonishes me.Apart from that, the plot itself is very predictable from the beginning to the end, there isn't even one twist. There have been literally hundreds of the same story before. And the story moves slower than a snail stuck in a traffic jam.I wouldn't recommend watching it if you're over 10 years old.
jim_langer I saw this on cable the first time, so I didn't see it from the beginning, and I liked watching the movie, until my wife turned it off. Then, I saw it on again not from the beginning...and my wife turned it off again...Then, I saw it again from the actual beginning...and was shocked to see "Manitowoc, WI" which is where my family took many weekend trips. The good old days...I was actually going to see the movie from the beginning...and then my wife turned off the movie again. Anyway, I liked the movie...the parts I saw...I didn't care that it was unrealistic and cheesy (no pun intended)...I enjoyed it. My favorite line, not from the movie but from a guy that I once worked with, Dan Bell. We were on a job in Oklahoma, and He told me that every time someone would ask where he is from, and he said they would all respond the same way, "Wisconsin, huh...What do you do with all that cheese?" (then Dan said, like I Store it in my garage). Well, do ya? Wisconsin huh...What do you do with all that Cheese? And the college girls??? In the movie, what did the commercial say? That was funny. I wish my wife would let me see the whole movie...
