natecarraway I remember when I first saw the commercials for this I knew it was gonna SUCK! And it did, after I first saw this I instantly hated it. For one thing I hate what they did to the characters. They made them look like idiots. Like in one scene Mayor couldn't reach his pickle jar because it was on a high shelf so he calls the girls to help him. But Bubbles won't leave because she is addicted to this dance game they got at the store. So they go without her. But when the other two get to the mayor's office they discover they need Bubbles to help them get it down. WHAT?!?! How many Powerpuff girls does it take to take a pickle jar from a high shelf? Apparently according to this special, all three. And another thing that doesn't make sense is when they're forced to work for the evil side they somehow turn into these robot things. Even the way the robots are defeated is a dance off. Once again: WHAT?!?! WHY?!?! It literally feels like the characters were watered down from the original show for this special. And another thing. The animation, It's ugly, which is sad because technology has gotten better. If the original has better animation than this than that's saying something because it originally came out in the late 90s. So what I would do is give this a skip and go watch the original some more.(including the 2008 special Powerpuff Girls Rule! which should of been the last episode)

Horst in Translation (filmreviews@web.de) "Dance Pantsed" is a Powerpuff Girls (voiced by actresses in their 40s and 50s) short film that runs slightly over 20 minutes. The trio are up against a bad villain again and have to make sure to save the world again. It's a bit of "Charlie's Angels" with animation and the heroes considerably younger. It's also a lot worse. I have no idea what the Emmys were thinking when they awarded this one or what the Annies were thinking when they nominated it. The animation style is terrible, even if that's just perception. The action is very quick and doesn't make any sense absolutely, but not in a weirdly entertaining way, just in a completely pointless manner. What was up with the random dance sequence at the end? And the talking was really quick and impossible to understand for foreign audiences without subtitles, probably also tough to follow for American native speakers if they are still children. I love myself a good animated movie from time to time, but it's impossible to believe that grown-ups can enjoy this one. And children probably should not watch it because it is simply a crappy movie. Highly not recommended and it's shocking to see a legend like Ringo Starr in here.

ultramatt2000-1 Boy it has been half a decade, since we saw POWERPUFF GIRLS RULE in 2008. I saw some teaser art for this special. I worried about that it will be stereotypically girly like JEM, STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE, RAINBOW-BRITE, and the first three generations of MY LITTLE PONY, but I was wrong. Before I talk about my thoughts about it, let me supply you with a little history lesson.From 1929 to 1934, America was suffering through The Great Depression. There were superheroes like Superman, Flash Gordon, Shazam, Captain Marvel and Buck Rogers who were used to boost morale and raise spirits. Then America was struck by terrorism on September 11th, 2001. With that there were shows like POWERPUFF GIRLS, DEXTER'S LABORATORY, JOHNNY BRAVO, COURAGE THE COWARDLY DOG, and FAIRLY ODDPARENTS. They were used to continue the tradition on boosting morale and raising spirits through the power of laughter and pop-culture references. Over the next ten years, political correctness had affected the government, and then the media and technology. Negativity had infected society and they were statement films and shows like IDIOCRACY, THE JERSEY SHORE, DAN VS. and GOD BLESS America. These had negative role-models carried bad messages to prove that life stinks! This drove the world mad. Now with a troubled times, there were a few shows that are struggling to keep the tradition like T.U.F.F. PUPPY and WANDER OVER YONDER. With love and respect for the past and pop-culture references, it is time for the girls to make a comeback.With that history lesson aside, what I wrote was true. I did watch this show yesterday and I had a laugh out of it. It is good to hear the old voices and familiar music, but the design looked different. It doesn't look like an episode of the show, but it feels like an episode from the show. I heard that Butch Hartman was involved, but he wasn't. When I read that Craig McCracken, the show's original creator, was not involved, then how come I read the text "created by Craig McCracken" under the show's title? It's a mystery. In a world dominated by cartoons that are negative, contain character designs, that are complete eyesore, irritating voices that makes you want to press the mute button and messed up story-lines. Then this special is a breath of fresh air. I highly recommend it. If you enjoy this special and the original series, then you will enjoy IDW's comic book re-boot. It is faithful to the campy cartoon series. Rated TV-Y7 for comedic and fantasy violence and peril. This has been another "Mathew Praises".

AJ Hyena And that's the bad thing. The 3D wasn't an appealing choice, everything blends in together and makes it hard to recognize characters. The humor is nothing like it used to be. Repeating the same catch phrase over and over again. The entire plot is so random, within 3 minutes they fight a robot, go to the store, and play a game. It's almost insulting how much they have dumbed down the show. The super bloomed lighting makes the show very bright and hard on the eyes. For kids this might seem entertaining.I grew up watching the original show, and was somewhat excited to see it come back. But the entire show felt like a disappointment. A show they should have left alone.
