Kattiera Nana
I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

I love this movie so much
RipDelight
This is a tender, generous movie that likes its characters and presents them as real people, full of flaws and strengths.

Entertaining from beginning to end, it maintains the spirit of the franchise while establishing it's own seal with a fun cast

Very nice review above. However, it belongs to the original cartoon series "Priklyucheniya Kapitana Vrungelia" of 1976:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0219263/This 1982 release is not a cartoon series, but a film for children, based on the same general storyline, with some unexpected twists, for example Lom is now a Georgian fellow with the stereotypical heavy Georgian accent; the third sailor is not the mysterious art smuggler, but a schoolboy from a local school, etc. This film was not quite as popular as the original cartoon series. I left the Soviet Union in 1985 as a kid, and never seen this 1982 film, but all the kids were going wild about the 1976 cartoons! I watched it with my son who was born in the US, we had a blast.
