Synopsis

When aspiring horror filmmakers post an online casting call looking for "real life" monsters to interview for their upcoming documentary called, The Monster Project, they find three individuals claiming to be a skin-walker, a vampire, and a demon. Meeting these monsters at a remote mansion in the woods on the night of a total lunar eclipse, the filmmakers invite the three subjects to share their haunting, personal experiences. Working on the crew is a recovering drug addict who suffers withdrawal and paranoia. As a person of faith, he fears his friends underestimate the dark powers they are summoning. When the interviews turn deadly, he must battle the demons, inside and out, to escape the house and defeat the rise of evil incarnate.

Micitype Pretty Good
Nessieldwi Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.
Curapedi I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.
Arianna Moses Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.
Andariel Halo This was a movie initially a bit difficult to get into, as it came across boring and the characters rather unlikeable in the opening several minutes. As such, I had started the film weeks ago, then given up and only re-watched it now.once it gets past its establishing period, it becomes shockingly fun. While the vast majority of the film is essentially filmed in night vision on a camera, there is very little that is hard to see and it's not at all difficult to keep track of the action going along.the plot is serviceable enough, in the form of an amateur documentary on people who claim to be real life "monsters"; a vampire, a Navajo skinwalker, and someone possessed by a demon. each one gets a brief interview segment, then Stuff Goes Wrong and the adventure ride begins.while filmed in a by now familiar style of found footage running from a demon monster thing, the use and constant interchange between three completely different types of monsters actually works in maintaining a vibrant pace without getting overly bogged down, while giving us some unique "fight" sequences with the different monsters. It all plays out rather like an adventure game, with each monster as a "boss fight" to be defeated in different ways, with the demon in particular being the most unusual of the group with a hallucinatory pseudo-flashback sequence involving one of the protagonists.rather than go through each "boss" one at a time, they end up recurring several times, often playing to their original mythos (as in, the Demon leaves its initial victim and possesses someone else, the Vampire gets killed but bites someone and that person eventually becomes a vampire later on).The movie began to slog a bit near the end, involving a twist ending reveal that in my opinion killed the fun of the movie, no longer indulging itself in various monster mythos but instead going with a familiar, bland Christian-centric Satanic rituals and talk of an antichrist. It all came apart around there, losing focus from its initial monster mash premise and going for something entirely different for its last 15 minutes
Joe Mama I finished watching it 10 seconds ago and couldn't wait to let the directors know how terrible it was. Typical horror fare with cheap jump scares, some "old-fashioned" monsters that never do very much, some terrible acting, and a Deus Ex-Machina ending that makes the entire thing not just terrible but futile. Sucked.
Brandon Zarzyczny Monster Project has an interesting concept, it's a found footage horror film about a group of annoying characters that want to interview people that think they're real monsters. However things get complicated when the three people they're interviewing are actual monsters. The middle of the film is definitely the best part, where they explore the haunted house where they're conducting the interviews, and then do the actual interviews. I enjoyed a lot of the things they did with the interviews, as they play around with the rules of the monsters. The problem parts of the film come before and after that, with the beginning being full of annoying and pointless character drama delivered by mediocre to bad actors. The worst being the camera man, which is one of the biggest sins a found footage film can have, as no one likes having an annoying guy talking off screen (and obviously in a sound booth) while everything's going on. The movie after the interviews is also deeply flawed, as a lot of monster rules set up during the interview are immediately broken. With the vampire going from a tattoo artist that licks her canvas's blood as part of her payment, to being a mindless beast. The skinwalker is also turned immediately into a generic werewolf, with the generic characteristics including a scratch turning the victim into a werewolf, even though the film went out of it's way to describe how someone becomes a skinwalker (murdering a family member). The CGI for the girl possessed by a demon is also really bad and distracting. I won't spoil the end, but I will say that it's also incredibly stupid, and there's a stupid Bagul scare at the very end.Overall, I'd advise people to stay away from Monster Factory unless you're a huge Found Footage Horror fan. dsdiaz04 So here is my honest review. This was a GREAT movie that could of been. Perfect to watch on Halloween night but the "Jamal" character really ruined it for me. I don't understand why they felt the need to have a stereotypical black man who is over the top on his "Homie" personality. His acting was over the top from the get go which made this feel fake. I think many will agree with me on this. Now to the good stuff! The Blair Witch style is something I've always liked, the camera wasn't too shaky to make it enjoyable to watch. The story is cool, the monsters are cool and the rest of the actors were great. If you cut the Jamal character out this movie It becomes something really worth watching. Overall it was fun to watch just hard to take it seriously with the Jamal dude over acting.
