Lovesusti The Worst Film Ever
Evengyny Thanks for the memories!
SnoReptilePlenty Memorable, crazy movie
Raymond Sierra The film may be flawed, but its message is not.
ElWormo I love send-ups of inept old movies and TV shows when they're done right (i.e. 'Garth Marenghi's Darkplace') so I wanted to have a good time with this. But unfortunately, despite the makers obviously having a healthy appreciation of the kind of movies they were aiming to parody, every aspect of Lost Skeleton seemed heavy handed. The whole approach was too obvious and knowingly dumb, and I felt like I was constantly waiting for the actors to start nudging each other and winking at the camera. This kind of stuff needs to be done deadpan with the deadest of pans, but the pans here were too alive. The result is an awkwardly self-conscious attempt at making a bad movie - ironically it is bad, but not in the way they intended. The more recent 70s blaxploitation send-up 'Black Dynamite' suffered from similar pitfalls, but was more entertaining.
thor-teague This is one of the greatest spoofs I've ever seen. Nonstop laughs start to finish. The idea is, this is a parody of those 50's sci-fi B-Movies popularized in Drive-Ins and on MST3k. In fact, I feel Cadavra owes its existence at least somewhat to Mystery Science Theater; I hope more of its ilk are coming. This film is just plain a perfect comedy all around. Scientists that, "Well, do science!" Just some abstract, inexplicable mysticism they choose to call science. Watch for the junior chemistry set in Cadavra cave. Animala. She's made from four forest animals, the film eventually decides, none of them a cat which seems to be the way she's acting. Aliens are thrown in for no particular reason. So, Bamin and Targasso, are those... stupid names? Simple production, pretty basic stuff. Nothing fancy. The dialog... amazingly well written (believe it or not) spoof on wooden lifeless haplessly delivered dialog ubiquitous throughout B-Movie fare. The skeleton character, a well crafted wisecracker. Fay Masterson... very cute and underrated.Highly recommended for anyone with a sense of humor.
Vincent Black This movie has dialog. Good dialog is a good thing for a movie to have. People talking to each other is considered dialog. Dialog explains complex ideas and plots to the viewer of this movie. Yes, it is important to have dialog in a movie. The characters of this movie are also good. Animala is a good character. Although her personality could be evil. Her character is derived from the underground, anti-conformist youth gathering... oops I am talking way too fast. I better slow down. She is an example of the "beat generation" known as the beatnik. There I go again, getting way to complicated. Characters like Lattis and Kro-Bar, should not be mistaken for real aliens as they are only characters. The movie has a good moral. A moral is a lesson to be learned from the telling of a story. The moral is a good moral to learn from this movie. This movie's moral is; When two or three evils fight to own a meteor, sharing is a good Earth idea. But it is better to share, and not do some other kind of sharing only with yourself. I sleep now!
NancyLarned This movie was a great surprise. I am a fan of old B-movies, and this film replicated them perfectly. The characters, the story, the setting, and the humor are all so clever and witty. From the titles of this film, I was laughing my head off. There are so many quotable lines it's impossible to count them all! The Lost Skeleton is so sarcastic, Betty is so stupid.... Larry Blamire did a brilliant job on the script and on the skeleton's voice. The camera, the lighting, the sets, the audio, and even the trailer are all perfectly done to look and feel like a sci-fi movie of the 50's. If only the "(fill in the blank) Movies" and other comedies were this funny and simple. This film was perfect in all ways and really made me laugh. I recommend it to anyone who loves an intelligent comedy; fans of the "fill in the blank Movies" are advised to stay away -- this is not a film for you.
