Evengyny Thanks for the memories!
Stoutor It's not great by any means, but it's a pretty good movie that didn't leave me filled with regret for investing time in it.
Voxitype Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.
InformationRap This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
nicshear Well, this film may not have won any Oscars or been top of the line in continuity, but it is a good time. I remember this flick from my childhood watching HBO. Perhaps it is why I have an affinity for becoming a retiree in Miami one day to watch Rosie LaBouche in action. I digress, but this in a fun movie that can be enjoyed by the entire family. Officer Dave Speed is one of those people that you can't help but love due to his mild mannered nature. This trait directly contributes to the contrast between he and Sgt Willie Dunlop who is impatient, cynical and hot headed. After Dave has experienced bomb testing in a Native American dwelling in Creektown, he has the powers more or less of Superman, with his Kryptonite being the color red. It's dated, which makes it so fun to watch, and gives us great character names like Torpedo and Paradise. The music will be going through your head for days..."He's a Super trooper..." and your friends will think you are a bit nuts for humming it. I recommend this movie to simply veg-out and re-visit the early 80's with some friends and a few cocktails. Check out the red couch when the mashed potatoes are whipping and the seams on the big bubble gum as well. Just a few of my favorite goofs from this film!!
DelVarrick I remember first watching this film way back when it was in heavy rotation on HBO in the early 80s. This was long before I discovered Terence Hill's Spaghetti Westerns like My Name Is Nobody and his Trinity films. I certainly didn't know anything about Sergio Corbucci's impressive body of work. What I did know was that Terence Hill and Ernest Borgnine made for a lot of laughs. The film was never meant to be taken seriously. That should be obvious from the title alone. It's a parody. It's slapstick. It's fun.If you're not into that sort of thing you probably won't like the film. Of course, if you're not into that sort of thing I don't know why you'd be watching a film called Super Fuzz to begin with. If you have a sense of humor and enjoy films like Police Academy and Trinity, you'll probably enjoy Super Fuzz.
happipuppi13 "Superfuzz": I saw this film when it came out in theaters thanks to seeing the ad for it on TV. The idea of a cop with super powers due to a nuclear accident sounded cool and what I saw in the commercials appeared funny. Being 13 then,it looked like it would be a really fun film. Back then,it was. I was actually able to see it on video just a few short years ago and I realized,I was only laughing at things someone 13 or younger would laugh at. I also (when I saw it on video) kind of felt sorry for Ernest Borgnine having to be in such a sub-standard film. This was the same man who did a fabulous lead acting job in the 1955 film "Marty". Poor Ernest! As for the rest of the cast and the film itself, the cast does an adequate job and the Italian actor in the lead role...yes,his voice is dubbed in English as well as the others. I didn't notice that until the second viewing. Overall,if absurdity, silliness and Gilligan's Island type super-speedy film comedy is your thing, then by all means, get this movie. If you want to see a great example of the non-sense some movie makers tried to pass off as entertainment in the late 70s & early 80s,again,get this movie.05/13/2017 (EDIT) - I found a copy of this film at Ebay and decided to give it another look all these years later. I actually found more of it funny than I did on the first re-watch in the early 90s. Some things I found stupid before weren't anymore and whatever still was, most likely always will be. Just the same , I'm uping my rating from 4 stars to 6. It's a good comedy to watch if you're in the mood for super-silly. (End)
Felix_Deutschland One thing is for certain: As long there is an Italian flick, set in 70's/80's Miami and starring either Terrence Hill and Bud Spencer, or just Terrence Hill as a cop, you can be sure to witness brilliance.Well, as long as you view the German language version, which is full of wonderful flat catch phrases. The special effects are poor, and the fight scenes are anything but impressively choreographed (the move repertoire of Terrence and Bud pretty much just contains slaps and headnuts), but it's just that simple manliness of those two that makes your heart laugh.Terrence Hill sits in the death row at the beginning of the movie, shoveling read beans into his mouth as his last dish. The only thing he wants is just more beans, and he is making some jokes about the people who are terribly concerned about him being given his death penalty in just minutes.I mean, this might sound stupid when you read it, but you just have to see it. It's childish (I just to first see those movies when I was about 6 years old or so, and I still enjoy the simple charm those movies have), it's silly, it's an hour and a half funny talking and trashy, but amusing slapstick. And mind the brilliant score! It's 70's Italo-Disco-Sound at it's best, all so wonderful trashy it gives you a big grin just when you hear the theme... "Suuuuper Snoooopeeeeer..."Wow.
