Claysaba Excellent, Without a doubt!!
filippaberry84 I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
Matho The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.
Bob This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
rathnavel_annd my sincere appreciation to RGV............before i start of my review my expectations are high towards the third part that RGV is expected to take in the near future......the films background has been worked well as i can see the technological intervention in sound works more than the first part..Big B was good as usual...Abhishek Bachan is shaping out well to be a great actor as he proved his point in this film... i am southindian i don't understand Hindi at all... as i had to follow the subtitle..the dialogue are mind blowing...I have two doubts in this film, one.. why was ishwarya rai carried throughout the way in the movie..she was more like a shadow to shankar nagre usually the nagre group don't entertain family members or others into what they do....... doubt two.. as Big B says at the start of the film that his son is also on the field for nearly 3 years now he would have clearly figured out something was odd as the bomb was set on the car....i think he would found that was a costly hit and he would have at least had a spark that something fishy was going on around him above the power plant ... other than that the film is an another feather to RGV's hat or flock of movies he had directed last request if RGV did reads this comment i would encourage him to do the continuation on this project as the third part rather than doing another project.......... i have added RGV to list of favourite director Cum producer after Mani Ratnam, Selva Ragavan , Gautham Menon
sakina_bebe This film is awful has not even the politics sense in it. Three things that should not be in the film. Aishwariya Rai first thing she is not even an good actress she is just a slave to Hollywood she don't even deserve to be in this movie. Seconde , Abhishek Bachan he was boring and really ugly i mean get to the fact Bachan family sucks really boring movie. And yeah Tanisha was supposed to be Nagre's Daugther in law but in this movie Ash was more closer than Tanisha to Abhishek so this film is not even watchable please if u wanna save money and time don't go watch this all time crap its for your good. And Yeah! one thing else the music suck's too.
pranay jha The Bachchans: The new first family of Bollywood.Dad Amitabh was the undisputed superstar in the 70's and 80's;the most prolific actor in his second innings in the new millennium doing as many as 10 movies a year.Son Abhishek after giving 13 duds has given successful movies like GURU and the DHOOM series. He has not given a hit in quite some time and hence needs a relaunch.Daughter-in-law Aishwarya was an international beauty queen and a few makeovers later is one of the highest paid actress around. She has sent the glamor quotient of the family soaring upwards.Poor mom Jaya Bachchan cant keep up and is rarely seen in the public with the family instead spends time hobnobbing with the likes of Amar Singh. The Bachchans have recently come under attack for not contributing to the progress of Maharashtra. The Nagres:The first family in the power politics of Maharashtra.Father Subhash is the original man of Honor, dispensing justice and running the state through the chief Minister.Son Shankar is the heir managing most of the family's mysterious business. In the words of Abhishek Bachchan,"He is a futuristic man in the sense he thinks about the future."He is already more successful his Dad,or so his Dad claims. Both Dad and son have committed themselves to the progress of the Maharashtra.Mom Nagre stays in background making tea and "puris" for the freak characters that come to the house.Enter Anita,an international entrepreneur, who wants to step out of her father's shadow with a power plant project(an obvious metaphor for the power struggles in the plot.) In Sarkar Raj,the ironies and the parallels just don't stop coming. The director: Ram Gopal Verma. Once known as a maverick director, he has reduced himself to his own parody. His legacy of movies like Satya,Rangeela,Company and Bhoot was destroyed by Shiva and "RGV Ki Aag."After Sarkar Raj he is finished. One suggests a five year holiday when RGV can still afford it.The movie:Entirely shot in minimal colors with the camera at the RGV angles which can be:a) extreme close-ups of characters or b)the camera below glass tops, chairs, beds, giving the effect of a sting operation. All of which is supposed to hide the fact that the entire plot comprises solely of set-piece situations.First half-The father-son conflict.Dad Amitabh is against the power plant being made on land taken from the poor villagers.Son is all for taking hard decisions for development.Dad reposes his faith in son finally.Son goes about the easy job of convincing people to give up their lands. Then the bad guys blow up the car in which the pregnant wife Tanissha(yes, we were tortured with her close-ups as well) was traveling, which paves the way for Nagre junior to take revenge and find love in Anita. At which point in second half Nagre junior is bumped off as well,in turn clearing the way for Nagre Sr to take revenge and explain away all the consistencies in the plot with some Tarkash-Ke-Teer,Shatranj-Ki-Bisaat type of dialogs.Every twist in the plot in the movie is predictable. One knows that man-Friday will turn up to be the mole and Gandhian mentor the mastermind of the carnage. There are only two good moments in the movie. First when Abhishek remorse for killing Bhaiyya in the previous edition and last when he stands up to a mob which calls his father a thief.Any review of Sarkar Raj will be incomplete without the mention of the three typical Ramu type villains.Sayaji Shinde(Bachu Yadav of Shool) plays a crooked politician who screams and jumps without any provocation.Giving him company is Govind Namdeo playing a power broker who spews euphemisms by the dozen and when asked to explain just says "Aise hi Kah Diya".Sample these:-Govind Namdeo:-"Shaadi Se Pehle Hi Pataakhe Mat Chodiye"Aishwarya:-"Kya Matlab?"Govind Namdeo:-"Aise Hi Kah Diya"Govind Namdeo:-"Yeh foreign companies Keel Ki Tarah Hoti Hain"Abhishek:-"Kahna Kya Chahte ho?"Govind:-"Aise Hi Kah Diya"And my favoriteGovind:-"Bina Ande Ke Omlette Nahi Banta"Sayaji:-"Matlab Shankar Anda,Mumbai omelet?"Govind;-"Aur hum Masala."But the freakiest bad guy is a Gujrati business called Vohra who keeps singing 70's hits under his breath all the time in the movie. The funniest scene in the movie is in which Vohra sings "Gapucchi Gapucchi gum gum" while threatening to bump off Abhishek. A future project that brings together the Bachchans should be a Hindi remake of the run-away Bhojpuri hit "Sasura Bada Paisewala"
HeadleyLamarr I managed to catch RGV's latest magnum opus. Some thoughts that i penned as I saw the film:1. There is darkness everywhere in the Nagre household, broken by tiny shafts of light - this place really needs a power plant.2. Aishwarya is the CEO of the Shepherd Power plant and her adoring looks directed at Nagre senior and junior are really befitting a steely eyed executive.3. Govindaa Govindaa Govindaaaaaa X 1000 and I am 20 minutes into the film. When Govindaaa stops there are chants of Saam Daam Dand Bhed to fill in the silences.4. Aishwarya starts calling Abhishek Tum about 10 minutes into the film, and then in a very wifely way asks if she can go to that XXXXXwadi with him!!5. The Nagres do not take Ghoos (bribes), apparently are not in any kind of salaried office but maintain a huge household with an entourage of staff.6. The women make puris and sheera all the time. Not Aishwarya though - she wears pants!7. Amitabh talks as though there is another chamber in his mouth through which every word and sound percolates before coming out - Khilaf is Khunluff, Janta is Jundu.8. There is a very endearing moment with a little girl throwing color at him.9. Govindaaaa and Saam Daam are replaced by Jheeni Jheeni as Aishwarya looks adoringly at Abhishek for more time.BAS, BAS before the Govindaaas start up all over again, I have to stop watching this dark noisy film that is going nowhere.I wonder who wrote the dialogs for Ramu. Now I know why Raja Sen said they were not talking they were "Dialoguing"!!Ande Tode Bagair Omlette Nahin Banta. Jazbaat Zindagi Mein Bhaari Padte Hain Sab Kuch Niji Hai, Sab Kuch As in everything is personalAnita Mujhe Jo Sahi Lagta Hai Main Wohi Karta HoonMujhe Koi Mazaa Nahin Aata hai Ki Main Aise Jiyoon, Dushmani Mol loon, Biwi Ko Kho Doon, Bhai Ko Maar Doon!!And the long pauses between dialogs punctuated with the ubiquitous Govindaaa, Govindaaaa! Then Big B spent 20 minutes explaining the TWIST in the story to us.I have to be thankful to the noisy background score for one thing. I forget if it was Govindaaa or Saam Daam that was loudly playing over Aish's screaming as you know who died. So we were spared the HDDCS like screaming moments. Big B was decent at moments, but he has chosen a really weird nasal echoing intonation for his dialog delivery. Aish was a complete cardboard cutout, as in she has nothing to do. If you like burnt sienna, ochre and muddy brown tones throughout then you would love the way the film is shot, because those are colors in every frame with the only light being on certain faces. For a serious film the villains are extreme caricatures. But above all it is a rather boring tale that left me completely un-engaged.
