Synopsis

Superstar crossover vocalist Sarah Brightman greets the new millennium with a bold sense of her unique musical niche in this live concert, La Luna. Drawing heavily from her same-titled CD, the material touches on images of the moon that reinforce its ambiguity as a force known to draw together "the lunatic, the lover, and the poet" (Brightman's revealing woodsy outfits and tinsel crown do seem to suggest a sort of Titania-like figure out of a New Age Midsummer Night's Dream).

Wordiezett So much average
Zlatica One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.
Philippa All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
Scarlet The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
ccthemovieman-1 The stage-opera-pop star gives a concert in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., as part of her "La Luna Tour." I am guessing the year was 2000 (it doesn't say).Of the several DVDs I have watched of Brightman's I think this one has the best collection of songs. In all there 26 songs giving up an hour-and-a-half of her singing. The visuals are okay, but I've seen better (her Las Vegas disc, for example). I thought the production was excellent, although there is a lot blue in here. That's the dominant color. However, I bought this for her voice, not worrying about the visuals.I am not a fan of female opera singers, but I enjoy her voice and she does enough pop numbers to offset any preponderance of the latter. Her repertoire goes back and forth. This concert offered a few songs I hadn't heard her do before, and ones I really liked such as "He Doesn't See Me" and her version of the Simon & Garfunkel tune, "Scarborough Fair." It was good to see another great singer, Josh Groban, join her for a number, too.In all, a pleasant concert that you can either watch or be content to use as surround-sound CD while you do something else.
Claudio Carvalho This is one of the best musical DVD ever made. It is perfect! You must see it. Sarah Brightman is outstanding, marvelous, stunning. The DTS is wonderful, the lighting, colors, costume, orchestra, choral, everything is fantastic. My vote is ten.
