Baseshment I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.
StyleSk8r At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
Nayan Gough A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.
Sarita Rafferty There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.
Michael Ledo Like all good vampires films, it delivers on cleavage. The beginning was good enough to hold my attention. However after the main character re-animated, it went downhill. What started out as a clever campy movie degraded into B grade film. And in my R rated version, the women have sex with their tops on. I would have expected something more physical from super strong vampires: tossing each other around the room, knocking over furniture etc.
Leofwine_draca REVAMPED is a cheap little cops vs. vampires tale that plays out more like a comedy thriller than a proper horror movie. There are some very cheaply-staged violent moments but for the most part this movie is content to sit back and make a few jokes. The main thrust of the attention is on a series of cameoing stars who must really have been desperate for cash at this time.Fred Williamson is here as a tough-talking cop in what is probably the film's highlight. Martin Kove shows his villainous face for a couple of minutes. Billy Drago is so underutilised that you'll barely notice him. As for Sam Jones, it's quite amusing to note that his acting talent hasn't really improved in the three decades or so since he first came to fame in FLASH GORDON. Otherwise this is fast-paced but still completely generic.
nathan-yeo Some self aggrandized journey-man bit player, finally saved enuf coinage to hire a bunch of over the hill actors and produce some half-arse script he slapped together. KEEP 'EM COMING! A depressed man calls a vampire 800-line and gets turned into a VAMPIRE. Too late he decides he wants to remain human and turns against his new blood-sucking Klan. There's a lot going on a lot of spoons in the pot on this one, like every other Vampire movie. The usual story of serial killer will the crustyold city Detective, convince the Feds they're actually the work of aVampire. A special Vampire swat team. A rival more viral vampire KLAN.There's even some comedy, they got jokes, not any good-ones, but jokes none the less. I enjoyed watching it, I did I'll probably watch it again. If you like vampire films, and need something light-hearted after the "UNDERWORLD", do yerself a favor and watch it. Vampires, comedy, action, veteran staple actors, you can't go wrong.
summoner68 I get the impression a lot of people voting here were looking for some Hollywood-style vampire film. This is NOT what this film is, and not what it intended. The acting is so bad it makes you laugh. I think (hope) this is intentional. Either way, it works. It doesn't take itself seriously - its closer to a low budget horror/comedy.The only reason i didn't give it anything higher is it seems to steal a LOT from BtVS. I wont list them, but they're everywhere. So, don't expect some big Hollywood film, or even a horror with any kind of ambition to scare you. Just sit back and chuckle at the witty dialogue.
