Actuakers One of my all time favorites.
InformationRap This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
Hayden Kane There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
Juana what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
dawnmhudspeth This movie/documentary is filled with baseless information! While Bill Maher is intelligent he parrots most information that suites him are rarely checks facts to present an authentic point of view.
Neddy Merrill Maher's ridicule of the world's major religions (although he goes light on Islam so as to avoid being the next Salman Rushdie) comes across as mean-spirited. This may not serve necessarily his anti- religious rant as might a softer touch. Largely Maher uses the interview format to essentially mock religious officials many of whom get frustrated with his constant contention and interruptions. Only one Jewish man, who apparently also inexplicably attends Holocaust denier events, openly fights Bill for the floor and eventually becomes the "let me finish" guy. Maher ends the "interview" abruptly and early. Maher throws in a few stunts following the Michael Moore template from back when his documentaries were more endearing than superior taking to London's Speakers Corner to preach the gospel according to L. Ron Hubbard and interviewing an actor at a biblical theme park who seems to not draw a line between himself and the Christian savior he plays. Oddly, Maher's narration largely takes place with him sitting in the back seat of an SUV speaking to an unseen driver and not to the camera. It was a weird choice. In short, the anti-religious screed will appeal largely to atheists who enjoy pointing and laughing or to religious people who can skip over the part when Bill makes fun of their beliefs.
The Couchpotatoes How did I never heard about this gem before? A friend that knows I am a convinced atheist told me I had to watch this and that I would like it. 8 years after the making of Religulous I finally had someone that told me about it and oh was I pleased! I literally had a smile on my face from beginning till the end. Bill Maher asks the perfect questions to the believers of any stupid religion and their answers are just hilarious. The fact that you can see that they know they are wrong, when Bill Maher replies to their answers with a silly but true answer or question is just hilarious. This is by far the best documentary I ever saw on any subject. It's not about getting a proof about the existence of a God, but just the opposite. It's about making the people see they are scammed since centuries and they continue being scammed now. Most of them actually know it but are just too afraid of death you could make them make believe whatever you want. Some are just eternal idiots that will never change their mind about religions, but those are also not the smartest puppy out of the litter let's say. If you are like me a convinced atheist you will adore this movie. If you are a believer of whatever religion, you will be or ashamed you ever believed in those nonsenses, or it will open your eyes and you will change your mind, or you will be scandalized and will continue being a dumb sheep of society.
Vijith Vk Brilliant work by Bill Maher. When I first heard about this, I was expecting a boring documentary featuring a lot of debates but Bill Maher has done a great job in making it both funny and thought provoking at the same time. Not only does he clearly refute their claims, he also does it in a way that makes it both hilarious and interesting. The documentary exposes the blindness induced in the common mass by religion and thereby points out why it is harmful. This documentary is a must watch for everyone. This movie is not just a mockery of faith, instead it is about empowering the average person to think, to question ideas and beliefs rather than blindly following it and also to show empathy and compassion towards others even if they are slightly different rather than condemning them with a black and white definition of good and bad just because it is said so in the religious texts. So, to conclude this movie is mainly against the social evils that is going on in the name of faith which hurt not only other humans but also the planet as a whole.
