Despite an interesting-looking poster, a promising plot, and a fine young cast, the film was utterly disappointing. Some very good visual effects does not compensate for the unclear storyline. I still don't fully understand what it was all about...It feels it lacks crucial information, and the cast was also not very good in their delivery either. Forgettable.

nothing unexpected. or surprising. or memorable. good acting, nice script, action and a formal story. old/classic war between Good and Bad , the love, friendship, super powers and secrets, adventure and noble moral values, mysterious meets and predictable end. far to be a great film, using many/too many clichés, it is a nice film, part of popular trend, work of interesting actors and wise for the use of fascination about secrets/thirst of conspiracies as basic tool. so,one of films about well known themes in a new/ at the first sigh/ package. so, entertainment. or contemporary version of fairy tale. and , more important, a decent film who gives nothing more than you expect from it.

This film, the first time I saw it, got me extremely excited even watching the trailers. To be honest you wouldn't get bored or tired of this film as around every corner there was action and drama. The story was pretty good and almost realistic (and believable!). The special effects in this film are absolutely amazing, everything is surreal yet real. This film makes you believe what you're watching. The acting was brilliant; it wasn't one of those cheap kind of acting. Djimon Hounsou played 'Henry Carver' extremely well, not only did his acting match perfectly with the character but he acted as the bad guy so well it was so realistic.But unfortunately there won't be a sequel to this film as the producers thought that the film didn't turn out so well, however, they have thought about turning this film into a television shows as the sequel as a film would have either been to short to fit enough detail in, or too long to fit enough events in. Overall, I highly recommend this film to everyone who enjoys watching Supernatural themed programmes.

I rented this movie a week ago and was pleasantly surprised to find it was very entertaining. There's a few issues here and there but all the actors did a great job, the action scenes were well done, the psychic abilities were interesting (loved the Asian dude who screams, his face was hilarious!), and the Hong Kong local lent a nice feel to the movie. It was easy to follow and kept my attention the whole time. Dakota Fanning and Chris Evans really did a good job. I thought the director also had some nice shots in there and the special effects, while low budget, were decently done.All in all I'd highly recommend if you're a sci-fi fan. It's too bad the release didn't do too well because I would have loved to see a sequel.
