As Good As It Gets

It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.

PRAY. is a Christian indie drama in which a young woman is assailed by forces unknown and must utilise her faith in God in order to see her through the experience. It's one of those cheesy good-time films which has quite obviously been made as a piece of Christian propaganda, so how much you enjoy it really depends on your tolerance for religious material. Personally, I found it all rather obvious and fake.

I bought this film(and Pray 2) at my local Family Christian Store the other day, because it looked really good. I had reservations about it since I could tell that it was low-budget, but I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt. It was awful. Since a lot takes place when it's dark out, you could barely see what was happening since there was no artificial lighting. And everything was ridiculous. Walking to your hotel room doesn't take as long as it did Madison, and getting locked in the mall? Even when the mall was open, you don't see a single other person shopping. And the custodian should have been able to let her out the door, instead of sending her back to the other side of the mall. The way things were playing out was so set up. So if you're looking for a well made Christian movie, this isn't it. Go get Fireproof or Facing the Giants. Those were pretty good.

This is an awesome movie! It has so many different genre's all mixed in one movie. If you like thriller's, than that is exactly what it is. It leaves you on the edge of your seat at all times. It's a great movie to watch with your friends and family. It's not too scary, which is a good thing. It's just a clean thriller and the thing I love about it is, things that go on in the movie, could actually happen. It's good feeling to be able to relate and really get into the movie, and that's what happens with Pray. You feel like your right there in the movie. The different angles make the movie so interesting. Awesome movie and I can't wait to see the next :)

I usually like Christian movies and movies based on true stories, especially ones with an unexpected twist but this was a very low budget movie that seemed more like an urban legend to me. The movie seemed more like a class project by amateur film makers. The movie was too drawn out, it didn't really concentrate on the miracle, once it happened the movie was over. The only Christian basis in the movie was the background music and the occasional clip on TV the rest of it was filled with bad acting and was slow moving with amateur camera footage. To make it seem like less of an urban legend the movie could have easily been more compressed to allow more time to concentrate on the miracle.
