Lightdeossk Captivating movie !
Derry Herrera Not sure how, but this is easily one of the best movies all summer. Multiple levels of funny, never takes itself seriously, super colorful, and creative.
Tayyab Torres Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.
litlblondgirl I laughed through the whole thing, yet I don't think the movie is supposed to be intentionally comedic. Oscars for everyone!
djswansonapr This movie is so incredibly horrible, it's hard to imagine the actors could have walked through the scenes and spoken their lines without throwing up their hands in disgust. (The scene with soldiers filling sandbags next to waves that are hundreds of feet high - really? Oh my.) The movie includes all the disaster flick cliches, a tragic romantic subplot, and special effects that look like they were created by 12 year olds in a middle school classroom. And plot consistency? Nonexistent. Plot holes so big you could steer the Titanic through them, sideways. Some reviewers wrote about the movie being so bad it is funny. I disagree. It's far too horrible to be the slightest bit humorous. It should be used in film schools as a case study on what not to put on the screen as intelligent entertainment.
franklynvoorhies-35825 I never expect the script to be great in movies like this, but it was unwatchable. I love movies that incorporate physics but this movie just tosses out black holes and string theory and gives no context. I was very sad this movie was produced.
paper1 If the magnetosphere of earth actually disappeared, the atmosphere would very slowly be skimmed off at 100km and above. To cause the ozone to disappear, the process would take millions of years. The ionosphere of the earth might also possibly produce a weak magnetic field as it interacts with the solar wind from the sun, providing yet further protection against a leaking atmosphere. There would be no earthquakes, sudden sun burns or melting of the caps!Given we have at least a million years to work our how to fix the lack of magnetic field, it's pretty safe to say we would all survive. If the magnetic field flipped polarity, it wouldn't even be a problem.
