Moustroll Good movie but grossly overrated
Pacionsbo Absolutely Fantastic
Senteur As somebody who had not heard any of this before, it became a curious phenomenon to sit and watch a film and slowly have the realities begin to click into place.
Guillelmina The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
kosmasp Explicit images (read nudity), but also penetration have made their way into mainstream movies (no pun intended). And while the term mainstream might feel like a stretch given to a low budget movie, this is not a single case of this thing happening. Low budget movies (or even higher budget movies like Nymphomaniac) do not hold back anymore. Caligula did that many decades ago, but back then it was more like a single case scenario (if you don't count some "horror" movies who had some explicit intercourse in them as well). But back to this one, which is depicting a relationship and a financial situation that might make feel people uncomfortable (even more uncomfortable than two people having sex together, while everything is shown). There is drama between all the nudity and it does work on a basic level. The acting is a bit off, which might have given this a bit of a boost, but overall the story is decent, though annoying at times. If you rent/watch it for the obvious non-story related reasons, you might feel disappointed, don't blame the movie for it though - on the other hand don't expect this to be a superb drama
rodnywww This is a very good film. I totally liked it. The plot is different; but one of the best I have every found.I specially liked the leading actress; not just because she is good looking; but because she is a talented actress. She does a great job to attract viewers to the film. The leading actor is also a talented person. He is totally justifying his character. This story is actually making us to think twice about our fast faced life. It influence us to explore the true meaning of life and living. Aren't we all chasing after a dream? Which sometimes making us nothing but zombies who don't have hearts. This film is one of the best I have ever watched. I recommend for anybody who has time to watch a film with patient.
oubobcat35758 This movie is a left wing anti-US Marxist diatribe that tries to infuse interest by interspersing sex scenes throughout an otherwise boring script. The male lead is wooden at best. The female lead is better, but it's because she's the one with a megaphone at the political rally and actually has something to say (regardless of whether you agree with her). The poor guy is just another audience member in this movie. Nothing is believable about the backgrounds of the characters, particularly the female. She appears to be living in a life of destitution and at the same time doesn't really seem to be lacking anything (especially booze). Despite living in squalor in her native land, she's somehow managed to get a degree. The US is a terrible place? Fine. Go back to where you came from (illegally) and quit wasting our time with this drivel.
D. Páce I saw this movie at a film festival in L.A. in a packed theater and I can definitely say that it captured everyone's attention. What really struck me was that once the movie had ended and everyone had exited the theater, it seemed like it took people a few minutes to face each other out in the light realizing that they had just spent the last hour and a half in a dark room with a lot of strangers watching a lot of sex on the big screen and then . . . this frenzy just broke out and we were all talking about how hot the movie was and discussing (and a lot of people downright arguing) whether or not this has crossed the line with regard to what should be allowed on a movie screen. It was pretty fun to watch people get so charged up. It's not like this is the first time a film has pushed boundaries sexually (I'm thinking "9 Songs") but I'd say this one takes it to a new level. Instead of sex inter-cut with concert footage, though, this movie balances sex with cerebral dialog so it actually appeals to both the libido and the mind (that's not a combination I see very often). Great date movie for sure! Especially if you're dating somebody with a brain (although frankly, even if you're not, I think they'll be . . . how should I put it . . . "inspired" by this one). All in all, this is a passionate movie about life and the state of the world in which we live. Pretty timely, actually. It's worth seeing with a date and then going to dinner afterward for some heated discussion – guaranteed! Or . . . just skipping dinner altogether. Check it out if you can.
