pacecsifan92 While this by far isn't the best movie ever thought of, it does a nice job of filling the need for a slasher flick late at night. The acting was solid, with most of Paris' scenes being the only ones that felt forced. The story was better than some others out there, this one at least tried to make sense. A book possessing people may stretch things a bit, but I give them points for creativity. Trying to review this as a "Scary" movie would be unfair to the genre. It's funny, and at time eerie, but nothing fantastic. You don't watch this kind of movie for a scare, you watch it to have a good laugh, which this does pretty well. And while the ending was kind of sappy, it still left something to be desired. Template plot, little character development, and some cheesy "Creepy music" make this a movie you can grab quick and enjoy. If you want to see a decent movie and have a good time, this is a solid choice. Not good, but not terrible.
bernie-122 Like so many others, I only watched this to evaluate firsthand Paris Hilton's acting ability or lack thereof. I have seen one other film starring PH and she performed brilliantly, (although the lighting wasn't real good) but she wasn't given much dialog, so it wasn't really a fair test.In Nine Lives, although she had lots of competition, she still managed to pull off easily the most wooden performance of the "production". I use that word loosely, because a production usually implies that there is some sort of coherent plot that isn't too obvious and predictable.Had things been done a little more tongue-in-cheek, this film could have landed solidly in the so-bad-it's-good bin. As it is, it's just pathetically lame. Film-school project. Sorry.
Sherazade But Paris Hilton wasn't that bad in this one, she was actually more decent that any of her other roles. The only reason I managed to give it two stars is for the wonderfully talented Amelia Warner who somehow found herself trapped on the set of this film. Amelia, how could you let this happen to you? It's the story of 9 friends who go to spend the weekend celebrating the birthday of one of their friends in his father's countryside manor, a legendary haunted estate where they all begin to disappear one by one in the middle of the night. With every body that turns up, each other believes that the next person is the killer and so they all set out trying to kill each other before the next person is killed. I know, even I can't wrap my head around that.
buthezenglish14-1 Okay so I caught this movie perhaps within the first half hour. I basically skipped over it until I saw a very dead Paris Hilton in only her panties (She went down true Paris style). Instantly overjoyed and intrigued at this dead Paris I began to watch the movie.I was about to turn it off about ten minutes later when the Scottish hottie danced across the screen. The movie was kind of predictable, direction was interesting. Acting was eh-ish. If it were any other movie I would have given it a 2, but I rate it as a 5 for the absolute eye candy.Perhaps the monologue at the end wasn't the greatest because it basically was poorly done, but the mouth that the words were coming from certainly more than makes up for the acting skills.Watch it if your hormonal, or are in serious need of seeing a dead Paris Hilton.
