BootDigest Such a frustrating disappointment
Bergorks If you like to be scared, if you like to laugh, and if you like to learn a thing or two at the movies, this absolutely cannot be missed.
Erica Derrick By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.
Guillelmina The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
Scott LeBrun Producer & director David DeCoteau fumbles and bumbles his way through this hilariously awful schlock feature, which doesn't get higher marks if only because too much of the set-up is dull and draggy; some scenes simply go on too long. But when the movie starts cooking, it's highly amusing and extremely sexy. If it does one thing right, it's the way that it showcases the charms - physical and otherwise - of three iconic 1980s B movie hotties - Linnea Quigley, Brinke Stevens, and Michelle Bauer. It does have fun with the unlikely premise that Linnea, Brinke, and Michelle could ever have a hard time finding guys. They actually do a good job of "dorking it up" as Melody, Marci, and Mickey (respectively), three sorority sisters. Marci has picked up an unusual item at a flea market: a mediums' crystal ball. As we can already see from the pre-credits sequence, he's come to a bad end. When our heroines hook up with three equally nerdy guys, Marci gets the (not so) bright idea to hold a séance. The result? The babes get possessed, become MUCH more sexy, and intend to sink their teeth into various male victims. The three guys, Kevin (Richard Gabai), Freddy (Marcus Vaughter), and Duane (William Dristas) don't do what most guys would do; instead they manage to control themselves, and hire an exorcist. That damn exorcist ruins all the fun! But, seriously, folks, this overall is entertaining garbage with very low rent special effects, some amusingly bad lines ("He made an ash of himself."), and supporting performances that can charitably be described as not very good. But Linnea, Brinke, and Michelle seem to be having a great time (and show off their goods, which all get loving close-ups), so the viewer will probably be able to enjoy this as well.Recommended to fans of trash who don't mind a whole lot of silliness.Seven out of 10.
FleshAndTheFiends Out of the hundreds (maybe even thousands!) of actresses out there who try to claim the title "Scream Queen," Linnea Quigley, Michelle Bauer and Brinke Stevens are probably the best. How else can you explain how their mere presence enables you to sit through something as horrid, as plot less and as pointless as Nightmare Sisters? Don't get me wrong, this movie is horrible in almost every way and is really an insult to horror movie fans everywhere. But I gave it a "5" anyway and that's only because of the three leading ladies and their ability to enliven even the most atrocious film. They get to goof off here at the beginning (there's one incredibly amateurish unbroken 'talking' shot that lasts about 10 minutes) and then basically spend the rest of the film running around naked after they are possessed by a demon. There's also a long drawn-out nude bathtub scene, but watching the girls just sitting there giggling, splashing water and looking like they are having a great time rubs off on the viewer and becomes enjoyable. It's a much sexier and more natural scene than what we B-movie fans would later encounter in Skinamax porn - you know long, dead serious, fake-looking, awkward simu-sex. So if you love Linnea, Michelle and/or Brinke, this makes a nice addition to your DVD collection. Otherwise it will be one of the most grueling viewing experiences you will ever encounter.
Son_of_Mansfield Although it is amusing to see Linnea Quigley, Michelle Bauer, and Brinke Stevens as "ugly" coeds, this movie relies too much on nudity and really bad jokes. Don't get me wrong, these three girls look good naked and have a good sense of humor; There just isn't enough for them to do. Richard Gabai should go away and never return. Michael Sonye or Dukey Flyswatter if you prefer, which I do, is extremely annoying as Omar, the psychic. His voice is pain, so if you like that sort of thing, watch the beginning sequence. He also is the lead singer of a band which does a couple of songs of which I did like the beginning of one of them. "Sucky sucky sucky sucky succ u bus! (dun dun) Sucky sucky sucky sucky succ u bus! (dun dun) Sucky sucky sucky sucky succ u bus! (dun dun dun dun) Suck me! (dun dun dun dun) Suck you!" If you must see this, you will enjoy the three girls cleaning each other in the bathtub. Although Michelle's tan scares me, I get over it.
movieman_kev A trio of nerdy sorority sisters (Linnea Quigley, Brink Stevens, and Michelle Bauer) are possessed by Succubi while holding a séance with 3 fellow geeky guys. OK, how can you go wrong with no less then 3 Scream Queens in the flick? Funnily enough easily. First of all, the action doesn't even begin to start until about 30 minutes in, that alone wouldn't be cause for alarm, but this is an 80-minute B-movie, so that's more then 1/3rd of the film dedicated to lameness.True the girls remain topless for a good deal of the remaining film, but, aside from a good lengthy bubble bath scene, nothing you can't see in any other of their respective movies. Films that don't almost put you to sleep in the first half hour. Which leaves the acting and humor to keep this flick alive. The acting...well heh, let's move onto the humor. The humor is extremely cornball. Skip this one.My Grade: DDVD Extras: blooper reel; 3 stills galleries (dedicated to each of the 3 scream queens in various states of undress); Director & producer commentary;a second commentary (this time with Brink Stevens, Michelle Bauer, and Richard Gabai)
