Synopsis

The 'Here Comes Christmas Candy Cane' is an important part of Ponyville: it’s the beacon that shows jolly old Santa Claus the way to the town as he makes his holiday rounds each year. But when Minty accidentally breaks it, it looks like Ponyville is destined to have a bleak holiday season. Minty is determined to do anything to save Christmas for her Pony friends while they, in turn, band together to try and cheer up their despondent four-legged friend.

Scanialara You won't be disappointed!
Platicsco Good story, Not enough for a whole film
StyleSk8r At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
Invaderbank The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.
zsofikam I have a few different My Little Pony items including a shirt, a bath set, a blanket, some books, and some DVDs. Although A Very Minty Christmas isn't my absolute fave of my collection (that award goes to Dancing In The Clouds), but it's still a very nice film, especially for little girls who love horses (as I did and still do). Minty is so sweet and adorable, she's in my top three ponies along with Sky Wishes and Star Catcher. Plus, as I have mentioned in previous reviews, I simply adore Christmas and the vast majority of movies, episodes, books, and songs that pertain to it. It all begins when Minty accidentally breaks the glowing candy cane intended to attract Santa and goes off to find Santa to tell him what happened with the candy cane. But along the way she discovers that it's not about the candy cane but about the amount of Christmas spirit possessed by Minty and her companions and that Christmas is about giving rather than getting. This is a message I greatly appreciate given how often it seems that Christmas is about receiving when it's about giving.
allyball-63124 A Very Minty Christmas is my favorite G3 episode/movie. The story is very charming and Minty is a very likable and charming character. The songs are a bit weird (there's one about socks for crying out loud) but they're not really bad. However, the animation can get a little weird at times. The eyes on the ponies are so weird they're almost creepy. I'm sure younger viewers wouldn't mind but older viewers might be slightly creeped out by the ponies' nearly demonic expressions. The story also does take a while to really get started but I think the scenes were necessary and might be better if they were shortened a bit. In conclusion, hardcore bronies and pegasisters should give this a chance and try to think of the G3 ponies as separated entities from the G4 ponies. I also recommend this for kids and for people who like movies such as Santa Buddies.
feather-mctallison This movie was very cute and good quality. The animation was fantastic. The storyline was pretty darn good and the voices were spot on. I am eager to see rereleases of this, as well as more G3 stuff, like Dancing in the Clouds and way more of the toys. Hasbro should really recycle all of the old G3 things they have crowding their storage rooms. Anyway, I love Minty and think she has a good personality. She is like me (likes to hoard and is clumsy). G3 lovers (such as myself) would most likely enjoy this and collect Minty merchandise. I think this movie is wonderful for all ages. Though it wasn't a real a Christmas Classic, everyone would love the bright colors and huggable characters.
TheLittleSongbird My Little Pony I am not a huge fan of, but I do actually kind of like it as it was part of my childhood. A Very Minty Christmas is decent and very cute, but not as good or as interesting(it was cute and had morals, but there was also conflict) as the older My Little Pony episodes. It does have a tendency to be too on the sickly sweet side, with some cheesy, cloying dialogue and some slightly rough character designs and Minty is one of those characters you may warm to once you get to know her, I personally did find her annoying to start with. I will also be honest that while I liked the movie I found Princess Promenade for example to be far superior. However, I did like the vibrant colours and ethereal backgrounds, the score is whimsical and the title song is catchy. The story is cute and well-meaning, the characters are engaging once you get used to Minty and the voice work while not amazing is good, the people involved are talented individuals and do well. All in all, cute and decent enough but not My Little Pony at its best. 7/10 Bethany Cox
