Synopsis

P-A-X-497/341, aka “Pax” , a curious young man from the well-ordered but loveless future, travels to present day New Orleans in search of romance novelist Elizabeth Barrett – whose book he has come upon during an archeological dig in the year 3127. Hoping Elizabeth can explain the concept of love to him, which is now nonexistent in his time, Pax embarks on an adventure filled with new discoveries. Elizabeth introduces Pax to life in the year 2011, filled with love, music and of course, destiny. When Pax doesn’t return to the future by the given deadline, Bob, his fellow scientist, travels back in time to find him. Meanwhile, as Elizabeth helps Pax learn about love, she ends up confiding in her colleague, played by Valerie Harper, about her own upcoming “surprise” engagement.

GrimPrecise I'll tell you why so serious
Sexyloutak Absolutely the worst movie.
Baseshment I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.
Allison Davies The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
Vogon-Poet I was in the mood for a lighthearted romantic comedy and this movie did not fail. It is cute and fun to watch. I've always loved Sara Rue. She is such a natural actress and I find that she chooses her roles well. Barry Watson's character is charming and entertaining. I actually kept the movie on my Netflix queue because I feel certain I will watch it again. It can feel slightly cheesy at times but it's not excessive or overdone to the point where I feel it ruins the movie. This would make a great movie for a "girls night", just as long as you aren't expecting anything deep or a true romance movie. Worth the watch. 7 out of 10 stars.
ReyLagarto I like Rom Coms and I LOVE Time Travel movies. That said I've never found a good way to have them together (I don't think the romance factor in some Doctor Who stories can be counted as such). This movie is not as good as the other reviews say. It's an OK movie. Entertaining enough. But what I can say is that I liked it MUCH more that Kate & Leopold (the other movie I know of with that combo). It's also true what other reviewer says, I don't love the ending. But all in all, it's a good and not too long (75 minutes is a good amount for it).
tiapet7 This movie surprised for a couple of reasons. The first being that when I saw the previews I thought it was a new TV show not a movie, so after sitting and watching it about half-way through I was afraid it was a failed TV series and was a little sad for it. This was just too cute to be anything but a hit. The acting and story line were so good that they drew me into the story instead of having me criticize every aspect of the film. There was the perfect amount of romance, I was beginning to wish I was Sarah Rue's character and that hasn't happened to me in a long time! Barry Watson's portrayal of PAX was exactly as someone from another time would be. I almost felt like I was reading a book instead of watching a movie because books tend to be more into the details.
dgcrow I really liked this movie. I thought Sara Rue was just fine, as usual. (I've been a fan of hers ever since "Less Than Perfect".) Barry Watson was appealing and his scenes with Rue were quite entertaining and believable. The whole production was enjoyable, light entertainment. And I had no problem with the little twist at the end. I have always enjoyed stories involving time travel if done reasonably well, and this one certainly was. In addition, it did have a few good things to say about love, relationships, and what is really important in life. Great to see Valerie Harper again, and there were a few brief but nice location shots in Savannah, Georgia. I'd give it an 8 out of 10.
