Reviews

Stevecorp Don't listen to the negative reviews
Chirphymium It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional
Taraparain Tells a fascinating and unsettling true story, and does so well, without pretending to have all the answers.
Verity Robins Great movie. Not sure what people expected but I found it highly entertaining.
SnoopyStyle Christine Jesperson (Miranda July) is a video artist desperate to get her work in Nancy Herrington (Tracy Wright)'s show. Richard Swersey (John Hawkes) is a recently separated shoe salesman with sons Peter and Robby. One day, Christine is driving her "Eldercab" to take Michael to buy shoes and Richard talks her into buying a pair herself. They begin a long hesitant romance. Meanwhile everybody they know is searching for connections in odd ways. Peter becomes entangled in Heather and Rebecca's sexual curiosity with Richard's boss Andrew. Robby gets into an internet sexual liaison with an unknown figure who turns out to be someone they know. Sylvie with her hope chest is infatuated with Peter. The two girls are the most shocking. Robby is the scariest. Peter and Sylvie are the most touching. With all these kids dealing with these adult situations, the leads' romance actually seems tame by comparison. It's odd that the central characters don't measure up to their costars but that's the case here. It's quirky and offbeat but I wouldn't call it charming. The movie threatens to go dark with the kiddie material but it backs off before it goes overboard. Miranda July and John Hawkes are doing some interesting acting. They are endearing in their own sections.
Amy Lodholz Indie flick lovers don't want to miss Me You and Everyone We Know (2005). Unknown Director and Writer Miranda July introduces Richard (played by the talented John Hawkins of Winter's Bone and The Sessions) and Christine (July) among several other unique and enriching characters whose own stories are as intriguing, relevant and compelling as the two leads. Me You and Everyone We Know is playful, whimsical and surprising - managing to keep your typical boy-meets-girl scenario interesting from beginning to end.At first, Richard's story comes second to that of his children. His two bi-racial sons (ages 13 and 6) are very close to each other, quiet and withdrawn. The two of them have become absorbed in unusual computer games and online chat rooms (likely coping mechanisms due to their parents recent separation). The situations the boys find themselves in are honest and real while also being slightly quirky and humorous. The youngest boy (Robby) is played by scene-stealing Brandon Ratcliff - whose character's delicate nature, curiosity and innocence are delightfully spotlighted in several funny and touching scenarios throughout the film. Richard is learning how to care and interact with his boys now on his own, in a whole new (and single) life when he crosses paths with Christine for the first time.Christine runs a shuttle service for the elderly and meets Richard (a humble shoe salesman) when she takes one of her clients out to get new sneakers. Even though the two of them only exchange a few sparse sentences, she's hooked and awkwardly seeks him out the following day. She lovingly stumbles through attempts at flirting and conversation making their journey all the more true and likable. Christine is also a contemporary artist and her work - full of love and poetry - help viewers learn more about her and move the plot forward in a unique way.Me You and Everyone We Know is clever and fresh with familiar movie characters that are crafted with surprising twists. It's an indie home-run bound to be a cult classic. Without giving too much away, viewers should watch this film just to find out the significance of the words, "Back and forth. Forever."
ktapp26 This was the worst movie I have ever seen. It is a movie for pedophiles and was so disturbing. I cannot believe that anyone actually spent money to make this piece of garbage. Did anyone who was involved with this movie have any sense of decency? There were a few good concepts in the movie, but they were completely overshadowed by the disturbing images/sexualization of children. If you find those things disturbing you should not watch this movie. I did like the scene with the goldfish and the one with the shoes (me and you), but like I said those moments were forgotten. Those moments might have made a better short than a whole movie. I am just so disturbed by the whole thing, I cannot believe that all of these people are not embarrassed for their parts in this.
Madjack always What a god awful movie! All the while I kept thinking it has to go somewhere..somewhere..but it went nowhere..such dumb movies should not be permitted. A lot of users have found this touching, refreshing and lots of other platitudes which do not fit this film. Not all indie films are so sad.. Don't waste your time, look a better title. Some have spent so much time on the review I wouldn't spend as much on the whole film. Sheer dedication to go through such a film. Hats off! Some other comments for this movie made me read them again and again..here are some samples "This is a fun, charming little movie that is comfortable being a little movie." fun? from which angle was this movie fun? I'm not going to pretend that I'm some well versed film critic or anything close to that. I just happen to like indy films. However, this movie was just too weird/too much with the whole poop back and forth forever thing.
