Stometer Save your money for something good and enjoyable
InformationRap This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
Lollivan It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
Marva It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,
paul_crown I'm not sure what the director was going for here. If it was a movie devoid of any originality then she succeeded with flying colours. I can't believe that Kristen Bell and Kelsey Grammer agreed to star in this drawn out advert for the Cruise line masquerading as a father-daughter drama "comedy". This was clearly all about the money as the stars feel like they're just going through motions with a supporting cast of cliches. The film is utter garbage in my opinion and I would suggest you don't waste your time.
markbarner I am always very critical with movies like these as they tend to think that the watchers are dumb and don't care about the details and often use unrealistic situations just to get the story going. This movie on the other hand feels very real and all Common movie mistakes has been eleminated and I am so thankful for that. The story might be cliche but this is done in a very surprising suttle manor. The cast worked very well for me and the humor was not over the top but just the right amount of chiches and the right dose of seriousness. Thank you! It was a delightful movie and the cruise ship feel felt real and the music nicely picked. Can't believe I actually watched a movie in the genre that touched me like movies did in the late 80ies and mid 90ies. And the chemistry between the two leading characters I would have never seen coming. Worked! More easy watchable and surprising comfortable movies like these please. Thumbs up from me.
bessevans-51352 Loved this movie. There were sincere moments and plenty of laugh out loud moments. Not full of happy go lucky cliches but gave an interesting look into the lives of people who have messed it up, but are striving to make it work. Had a couple of moments where I wondered where it was going but quickly found its feet again.
loueysmith I like Kristen Bell, but her character in this was just annoying, obnoxious and selfish! An obsessed workaholic is pretty much all there was to her personality. Who the hell makes a work call, as they're about to go down the aisle or spends more time on her phone sending emails than enjoying a cruise?? There were quite a few odd things about this movie, but the main annoying part was that there just wasn't much to the storyline. I didn't really feel much of a chemistry between her and her estranged Father, but I guess that at least was real...if a Father had walked out on you at 5 years old, you wouldn't have a bond, so this was at least realistic. There are some heartwarming moments which were good, but overall I just wasn't that impressed. It also wasn't nearly as funny as I expected it to be either.
