Console best movie i've ever seen.
Zandra The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
Zlatica One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.
sandrastover-44578 I love how warrick davis played the evil little leprechaun yet again , I really love how the lep rhymes and shows more of his magic The only person I didn't care for was the character Bridget , I just really disliked the character, she was very annoying to even watch , the acting was just better bad Davis made up for her though with his evil funny humor , I loved how lep wanted to find himself a bride and would stop at nothing to get his hands on her Only part I couldn't understand was his weakness , I'm not sure why they changed that But other wise another great job by Davis :)
matatosky As I wrote the review for Leprechaun 1, I shall write this one and with more enthusiasm, since this was way better. YES, this 2nd installment of the devilish little heathen known as The Leprechaun was cooler and better than the 1st one.The acting was a little more colorful and less dull than the original. It moves the setting from a droll backwoods scenery to a vivid but gloomy tourist part of the land of the free. The stars of this one actually tried their best to sell this plot and most of it goes to Sandy Baron as Morty, who you may recognize as Jack Klompus from the legendary show "Seinfeld". Anything Mr Baron did was awesome, he was a genuine character who always added his brash humor into any part he played. The Leprechaun, as always, did his part and sold the antagonistic delivery. Part of his charm is the way he rhymes and can actually command your attention with his creepy antics. In this movie, he returns after being ''killed'' in the original and searches for his long lost bride which he finds after a 1000 years and is a direct bloodline next of kin to the one he originally wanted back then. The movie is not much to analyze but it is fun to watch and makes an otherwise sketchy script work nicely. Don't put too much thought into it. If you see it on SyFy, treat yourself, you deserve a laugh and this movie is great at delivering it without overdoing the horror.
GL84 Trying to make an honest living, a teen's attempts to fix his relationship with his girlfriend is tested when she falls victim to a leprechaun's curse to be his his bride and forces him to utilize the legends of their nature to rescue her from her fate. This one was a decidedly lackluster though still entertaining effort. One of the few good parts here is the fun mind-games that come about once she's captured as that's when the fun really gets going. While the initial abduction from her house makes for some great action chasing around the house, and there's the perverse taunting being done when he tries to get her to submit as his wife, teasing her with the body modifications that must be done in order to brood his offspring, though it really tends to work well in the inescapable tunnel route by making it impossible to leave and always ending up back where they started in the liar. It's a pretty nightmarish concept that really works well at getting to her, though it's best utilized in the finale weer it's an even more effective tool to tease and frustrate the two throughout their battles into an extremely fun sequence that has even more going for it beyond this fun lair. This has some really enjoyable elements in how they begin fighting each other as the brawl with the controlled skeleton and keeping her safe using some nice counters to his trickery while keeping this upbeat and quite a bit better than expected. This one also comes really nicely with the enhanced amount of goofy, cheesy action which is now much more prevalent with the rather fun encounter in the bar where they drink him under the table and cause him to become staggering drunk, a rather goofy encounter in the office where they trap it in the iron safe before turning his tricks on them to escape and finally the scene at the drag racing spot where he runs them down with a souped-up demonic drag car that's just such a cheesy idea in concept and execution that there's very little about this that doesn't become appealing. Along with the great kills here, these here do manage to hold up the film against the few minor flaws in this one. Just like the original, the fact that this is just so much goofy, cheesy action here at the expense of actual horror elements that it might wear thin for some in how this goes overboard with these elements. The jokes and rhyming quips which are a constant here, not only from the kills but also during the simple scenes of them hanging out around his cave which is quite goofy that really makes this one too comical to take seriously while the original had a lot of success mixing the two. That in turns leads to the other big flaw here in that there's several new changes that quite different from the original, as the new weakness here makes no sense as it's not tied into their history at all, there's little about the need for putting the curse on the girl in order to get her in this situation which makes sense and the final resolution fails to follow through any of the usual methods featured here. These here do manage to hold it back somewhat, though there's still plenty of positives found here.Rated R: Graphic Violence, Adult Language and Nudity.
John Johnson If you couldn't get into the spirit of the first one, I wouldn't bother with this one.The Leprechaun series is a special kind of series. I liked that they don't exactly follow the first one. The best comic books don't necessarily keep the same parameters; Silver Age Batman is not Christopher Nolan's. I liked that we are basically getting the same Leprechaun villain with a different back story and different powers/weaknesses. Leprechaun 2 has a couple of different things about it. I liked the fantasy based background story. The Leprechaun lore is explored in this one; it's more about the Leprechaun than the humans response to him. I'm willing to forgo the strangeness of a 1000 year old Leprechaun making his way from the Old World to the New World. I'm willing to forgo his adaptability to the ways of the modern world though he comes from the Dark Ages. I liked the silly rhyming lines spliced with unnecessary gore. It's nice to have some light- hearted comedy that takes me from point A to point B. Leprechaun is a threat, the good guys fight him, the story ends.
