Contentar Best movie of this year hands down!
PiraBit if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.
Kaelan Mccaffrey Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.
Charles Herold (cherold) This very dark kid's cartoon tells a trite and predictable good versus evil story, with owl-enslaving owls who talk about conquest and purity set against owls who just go around being noble because that's just what they do.There are really good moments in this movie, including a terrifically exciting escape scene and an amusing bit with a porcupine soothsayer, and the animation is technically very well done, even if I find this sort of hyper-realism rather dreary, but overall this is a rather dull Star Wars wannabe.
SnoopyStyle Young owl Soren gets pushed off the branch by his jealous brother Kludd. They both fall onto the ground. They are captured by owls Jatt and Jutt and taken to St. Aegolius to work for the Pure Ones. There the young owls are divided into pickers and soldiers by Queen Nyra. Soren is forced into being a picker for protecting a small owl named Gylfie. Kludd abandons him to be a soldier. Pickers are forced to sort through owl pellets for metal flecks. Gylfie helps Soren avoid being moon-blinked, a catatonic state from sleeping under the full moon. Soren and Gylfie escape with the help of Grimble to warn the Guardians of Ga'Hoole. The owls look gorgeous. The CG animation is detailed and entrancing. Director Zack Snyder has bumped the technical envelop forward. The drawback in this is the complicated story. The plot is overstuffed and feels messy even in its short 97 minutes running time. The problem is that the movie keeps introducing new characters. The action is fast with the Snyder slow-mo style and the fights are violent. Most of the time, it is possible to keep track of the characters. The name are a little harder to remember.
Thomas Richardson This movie is awesome Director of Watchmen and 300 this is a movie you should see if you like harry potter lord of the rings or 300 then you defiantly need to see this movie you will not regret me I am 14 and I'm a boy When I first saw this movie in ten minutes I was saying to myself this movie is going to suck because its animated but another 10 minutes I was like saying to myself this isn't bad and then another ten minutes I was saying to myself this is good and then finally after another ten minutes I loved it and just because this movie is animated doesn't mean that adults or teenagers can't watch this movie anymore they still can watch because the real genre for this movie is a Adventure and a fantasy movie not Kids/Family
p-stepien Based on a revered children's book by Kathryn Lasky tells an almost George Lucas type story about the legendary owls of Ga'Hoole, a protectors of the race, aimed at offering peace and fighting off evil. Evil here has the guise of Metalbeak (Joel Edgerton), who utilising brainwashed and corrupted owls to bring about destruction and afford himself ultimate power. Two young barn owls Soren (Jim Sturgess) and Kludd (Ryan Kwanten) are captured by Metalbeaks' forces. Kludd quickly becomes enticed by the vestiges of power, while Soren desperately escapes with an elf owl Gylfie (Emily Barclay), soon venturing to alert the mythical guardians from Ga'hoole of the impeding doom.Generic and lacklustre Zack Snyder again manages to bring in the style and the stunning visuals, but lacks sufficient regard for storytelling and character-build. Too brutal for younger viewers, whilst insufficiently well-rounded to engulf older audiences, "Legend of the Guardians" lingers in between. Good and evil are simple guises, while the inevitable confrontation occurs without much triumphant virtue. Overall a tedious, borderline trite and semi-intriguing tale, which fails to be lifted by some nifty characters, instead seems overly focused on getting all the elements of the 'guideline to making a Hollywood epic' in place, including obligatory, but poorly introduced comedic relief. Instead it always feels rushed to the point (with some ridiculously obsessive pacing issues) and the key focus made on pretty pictures: the owls, their environment and the overall settings feel extremely realistic.
