SnoReptilePlenty Memorable, crazy movie
Platicsco Good story, Not enough for a whole film
Crwthod A lot more amusing than I thought it would be.
Tobias Burrows It's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.
welcometothelab This show would still be going if the first episode was produced in the same manner as the other 9, two slow two sad too hook the audience in the pilot ! But mad props with the rest of the season , wish there could be more !
KC Quinn I cannot believe this series was canceled after one season.I found it captured my interested from the very first moment. It was unique.Upon reading the description of the show I initially thought...oh no, a high-end restaurant, mob ties, a single parent, alcoholism and David Schwimmer in a serious role...this is not going anywhere. I watched 1 episode and it just grabbed me. Everything was presented in a manner far from the way I thought it would be. It did not compare to anything else I had viewed previously and that means a lot when looking for something unique. I had not seen David Schwimmer in a serious role and he did well as did all the other actors.Surely this series did not have enough exposure...that is the only reason I can think of for AMC stating 'the show simply didn't achieve the results needed to move forward with a second season'.I am extremely disappointed and will miss the series even if it lived for only 1 season.
kingbk-2 I really wanted to like Feed the Beast. AMC has made some outstanding TV shows that push the limits on excellent television creation such as Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, and The Walking Dead. I also like David Schwimmer and was looking forward to seeing him in a drama instead of a comedy. Having watched about three episodes, I'm slowly losing more and more interest and wonder if I'll make it through this season. There are many things wrong with this series. First off, the show is very paint by the numbers in how it's constructed. You've got the widower single father, who is in a deep depression because he lost his wife to a car accident. You have his son, who refuses to talk and expresses his pain through sketches. You have the best friend, who was let out of jail and now wants a fresh start. He's the rebel with a heart of gold. You have the mafia, who is coming after the best friend for past debts and will take out teeth if he isn't paid, aka his nickname, the tooth fairy. You have the estranged father, who is a racist bigot who thinks his son is a wimp. You have the naive Hispanic girl, who has a crush on Schwimmer and lies to help him out. You have the restaurant. Ho-hum.The writing and everything seems very intro to creative writing level stuff. The dialogue is bland and boring. The situations predictable. The drama forced. The emotion artificial. The acting is wooden and lacks meaning. This show is similar to Vinyl in that it adds unnecessary elements that detract from the quality of the show rather than add to it. Why is the whole mafia thing needed? I think a restaurant show would be interesting if you showed the effects of gentrification, of all the struggles with opening and running a restaurant, etc. That would make it a character drama and likely add layers instead of this watered down rewrite of the Sopranos. AMC was likely going to strike out on one of their shows eventually, and it appears they have here on Feed the Beast.
Danny Blankenship "AMC'S" new series "Feed the Beast" is an entertaining take and spin on getting by the best way you can even if it means illegal means! The drama is a spin and drama take that intersects with the mob and deals with money under the table being the themes that run the show. Anyway Dion(Jim Sturgess)has just got out of prison and he's still in debt with the mob so he decides to open up a restaurant with his old high school buddy Tommy(some well deserved work for David Schwimmer)and Tommy has some problems on the side he's a single dad with a mute son and he's in a power struggle with his rich dad who also puts a hand into the operation of the restaurant. And this series for cable true may not be "The Sopranos" still it's got plenty of blood and violence and action to keep it interesting. Overall check it out this series is a good vice spin on morality, money, and getting the job done anyway you can and by any means necessary so feed your viewing pleasure and watch "Feed the Beast".
