Huievest Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.
Kailansorac Clever, believable, and super fun to watch. It totally has replay value.
Matylda Swan It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties.
Kamila Bell This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.
SnoopyStyle Phil Weston (Will Ferrell) is always trying to live up to his super competitive father Buck (Robert Duvall). Buck is so competitive that he has a son at the same time as Phil. Buck plays his son Bucky (Josh Hutcherson) over Phil's son Sam (Dylan McLaughlin) in their little league soccer team. It gets so bad that Buck trades Sam away to the worst team in the league. Phil needs help and gets Buck's arch-nemesis next door neighbor Chicago Bears legendary coach Mike Ditka. This Will Ferrell character may be getting too familiar to people. He has made a living playing the same idiot all the time. So it's understandable if the critics are tired of him. But the big discovery is Mike Ditka. His combative relationship with Robert Duvall is hilarious. When you put two great men together, Will Ferrell's childlike behavior is even more funnier. The chemistry of the three men is perfectly suited.
tsmit44 It's a nice film to watch and pretty amusing. The movie can't be compared to Talladega Nights so don't try. It's a family comedy mainly for children. Just because it's Will Ferrell people expect it to be nothing but laughs and silly acts but that wasn't the intention here. It had its funny moments and serious moments. A great movie for kids and for parents to watch with their kids. No explicit content but still can make a groan man chuckle.Robert Duvall and Mike Ditka's performances were much better than I anticipated and a bunch of the kids supplied some additional humor. I have watched it many times and even added it to my collection. If I categorize it I would probably put it with Ladybugs or Cool Runnings. Of course not a classic like The Mighty Ducks, Teen Wolf, or Sandlot but better than movies like Air Bud, any Angels movie, and The Big Green which are also pretty good children's movies.
Thats_some_scary_stuff_Reviews This is another Will Ferrell sports comedy and it is definitely the best of them all. Its better then Blades of Glory and Talladega Nights. I am yet to see Semi-Pro but it doesn't look too good.Ever since 2005 we have been getting a Will Ferrell sports comedy every year. Maybe its time to stop. Kicking & Screaming is a fun family comedy. It has heart and is a must-see for a family looking for a movie to watch together. We have had ice skating, race car driving and basketball. This one is about soccer.A family man called Phil Weston has been victim to his dad's obsession to win all his life. Now he has a chance to get revenge on his dad through coaching a soccer team and trying defeat his dad and get a special soccer ball that has always been rightfully his. With the help of an ex-football coach he learns how to coach a team. But his coaching gets out of control resulting in hilarious situations. The soccer kids where great. Every kid had a different personality and each play there part very nicely. I don't think Will Ferrell needs to give a good performance in this movie he was hilarious and thats all that mattered to me. For those who want to know he was good but not great. This is the ideal family movie. I recommend it for a good time. It has hilarious moments that both kids and adults will love and even relate to.8/10
DKosty123 It's strange how people look at Will Farrell movies & think Will is the funny guy. Will is sometimes a weird guy (in fact in this soccer movie, he is a weird coach). But in most movies, Wills best moments are making others seem funny when they play off of him.In this movie where the Bad News Bears do soccer in a way, Will Ferrell makes Mike Ditka look good. He makes Robert Duvall look good. He even makes the kids look good. Will is just pretty much himself, weird and a little out of touch with reality. Make that a whole lot out of touch with reality.Still, the support he gets in this movie is priceless. The concept of the team arriving late at a soccer game in a Butcher truck all wearing bloody aprons is inspired. Some of the other things are creative & cute too. The films end is predictable, but a little different. Overall, it is entertaining for a young audience.Mike Ditka should find some more movie work. He is pretty good in this, & is missed when he leaves the film for a while.
