Solemplex To me, this movie is perfection.
Crwthod A lot more amusing than I thought it would be.
Baseshment I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.
Whitech It is not only a funny movie, but it allows a great amount of joy for anyone who watches it.
MattyGibbs I enjoyed the first Joyride which was full of tension and very well done. Unfortunately as we already know the perpetrator this one does away with the tension to instead concentrate more on gore. A group of boy racers and assorted girlfriends pick on the wrong lorry to mess with and pay the price. It's all fairly predictable stuff but there are one or two good scenes i.e the opening death scene to keep you interested. At times it is extremely gory with some SAW like scenes which I'm not sure add a great deal to the movie. The acting is what you'd expect, by no means bad but not great either. Overall as long as you don't have high expectations this is an OK time filler but I doubt it's one that will live long in the memory.
Argemaluco I found the original Joy Ride mediocre, but it was successful enough in order to have a straight-to-DVD sequel (Joy Ride 2: Dead Ahead), which abandoned the road movie/thriller premise in order to belong to the horror genre. And now, Joy Ride 3 attempts to resurrect the franchise putting the emphasis on the villain; the result is mediocre, but moderately entertaining. The characters are slightly more intelligent and less irritating than in other horror films, something which creates a reasonable level of suspense; but the screenplay lies too much on improbable coincidences and on the villain's almost supernatural capacity to always be one step ahead of the victims. For example, the victims have constant difficulties to communicate through their mobile phones and civil band radios. Meanwhile, the villain doesn't have any problem in keeping a wireless connection to the Internet while he drives his truck at 100 kilometres per hour over an abandoned highway through the desert. And in that way, jumping through logical holes and employing trite situations (including the obligatory personal conflicts and romantic tension), the film advances by fits and starts, even though that doesn't avoid the movie from being tolerable. So, even though I didn't find Joy Ride 3 a very good movie, I can give it a slight recommendation, and I would place it above the second film of the saga and at the same level of the first one. And to the fans of J.J. Abrams', don't waste the opportunity of seeing this famous director's name in the credits of a mediocre straight-to-DVD sequel (he was a co- screenwriter of the original Joy Ride, and he keeps receiving the "Inspired on characters created by" credit; I'm sure that his publicist must have nightmares in that regard).
Ange Alexiel i give a 6 to this one, cos they are not much horror road movies, but i give the first one a big 8, cos it was a pretty decent acting and cast. even if i prefer one film over this trilogy, which is the hitcher revisited by mickael bay , i'll give a 4,5 for the second film of this franchise. like final destination saga , or screams, some are better , some are at the bottom of the list, but of the 3 films, this one is second for me in quality. the intro is the best of all three by the way, wotrh watching if u like and love horror road movies. which are unfortunalty not very present these days. but it's a nice sage after all, and i hope a fourth one would renew the genre with some new twist . cos they are some uncohenrencies from the last scene of the second film to this one about the villain... maybe it's time for rusty nail to be replaced by another character
Baleegh Shaw The movie started with a quite a graphical scene of a young couple who tried to rob a trucker but instead become victim of insane driver. The rest of the story unfolded as anticipated, but a psychopath was able to kill three guys and one gal was quite over exaggerated. The trucker movement at the ending part of the movie was way strange then normal; as he was present at different locations which were miles apart in a rig manages to reach everywhere which was not what happens actually. The time when he was struck by the car and the moment when his truck was placed in the crusher makes me think how can he be so fast which such a bulky body. Moreover; once his truck was in the crusher and the machine claw was on his head he was shown in the truck but once the police arrived he was long gone is also not shown correctly. Once all the scenes were over he was walking alongside the road and was picked up by another trucker was quite funny. I rate this movie 5 out of 10 as majority of the scenes were shown which can be perceived before they could actually happen.
